[color="#0033cc"]I admire the Dalai Lama, because he is such a spiritual person and at one with himself, and always has a positive outlook on life. I'm working on trying to be spiritually at one with myself and learning not to let things bother me all the time and look at the positive things in life. [sm=FIFangel.gif]

I admire my children - I admire their energy, their enthusiasm for the trivial, their interest in everything, their passion, their tolerance and their trust in other people. I try and model that behaviour as much as i can.

I can honestly say there isn't anyone.

Admiration is against the teachings of Buddha and Buddhism the Dalai Lama would not seek it either.

If you asked me who has inspired me I would say Gandhi on peace, Martin Luther King on freedom, Nelson Mandela on forgiveness, Princess Diana on compassion, Master Jesus on Love and zero judgement, St Francis on understanding, Mother Mary on patience, Melchizedek on letting go of control, Buddha on relinguishing desire and the pain and suffering thereof; the Dalai Lama on unity. I feel sure that there are more but I would have to give it further thought. Oh yes Tolstoy and Hardie on reaching the sheer truth of Christianity, Plato on understanding the universe. Socrates on sharing the learning experience. Archangel Michael on truth that sets people free. Carl Jung on consciousness, Bruce Lipton on the new biology, Mikhail Baker on sound healing, earth activists on saving planet earth. Students and clients with their breakthroughs in self development and self healing, my son and Quan Yin for their profound wisdom.

Last but not least, most of all GOD and the miracles that manifest.

Love beyond measure

A friend of mine who always sees her glass as half-full.
Life has thrown some cruel dice in her direction but she never fails to see the bright side of things and thus makes the most of her opportunities.

She is an inspiration.

I admire my elderly mum for caring for my alcoholic brother without cracking up or breaking down, and for taking his illness in her stride.

I admire my children for their total sense of who they are, something I never had as a child. I love how strongly they stand in their identity. Something I had to relearn some years ago whereas my daughters just flow naturally within their own identities.

Its a joy to watch and be around.

I guess I'm with Kim on this one. There isn't just one main person I admire. There are many people, almost everyone I meet, that have traits that are admirable.

Like I read what one of our newbies said in Philosophy about personal power and how he'd discovered what worked for him, and I admired that in him -- he taught me something, opened my eyes to a new possibility or a different way of looking at the same thing.

People who teach and enlighten, people who think and thereby invite others to think, creative people who make something from nothing but their imagination and or those like writers, artists, musicians, people who love, hope,or are generous; even evil has something to offer, it helps define one's values and to some extent their actions. In another respect I admire beautiful people too. That one has me puzzled tho, is it just because they are pleasing to look at? I guess I admire nature and it is for its own sake... hmmm

I admire nearly everyone, even myself.

Those who set out to help others with no thought for their own gain.

Those who do not tell people how holy they are - they are humble instead

Those who would never indulge in petty spite

Those who are at one with the earth and all who live on it

Those who give instead of forever taking

Those who truly listen to what others are saying

I admire those who have overcome -- or who are at least in the process of overcoming -- great odds in their lives, but most of all, I admire those who are brutally honest in life, both with themselves and with others. Total honesty is the ultimate achievement in life, IMO, and the thing I respect and admire the most.

I admire my uncle whose dead now when he had cancer everytime I went round to visit him my grandma used to tell me that even if he was in unbearable pain he'd make an effort to sit up and smile for me so I didnt see how much pain he was in. And even though he couldn't fight forever he's the bravest and most admirable person I have and probably will ever know

I admire DonSimmswho fought tooth and nail through the courts and won the right forhis son to be given pentosan polysulphate (PPS) after High Court hearings in London and Belfast.Mr simmswon a legal battle forpioneering treatment for his son, Jonathan ( and others thats a legacy) after being toldeffectivelythat therewas no hope or treatment for Jon,to take him home to die.An ordinary father but a consummate hero, heperservered on Jons behalf through the courts forhim to be given an untested drug that could slow and perhaps stop the spread of the variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease.

I first saw Don Simms talking about their experiences on a documentary and was stunned by his courage.I think hefought amost courageous battle.
