Hello. Can anyone help me with a dilemma please. I am unhappy in my job and am keen to change. I am interested in training to become a Life Coach. One of the companies I have been looking at is New Insights Life Coaching Ltd in Brighton. To train with them would mean me having to borrow the money to pay for the course. I dont mind doing this if Im training with a successful company. I am a cautious person and doing this is a big risk for me. I would love to hear from anyone who who has trained with this company, and anyone who can recommend another company. Thank you all very much. Namaste.
Hi Sue
You are right in being very careful on who you choose to train with.
I do not know of this company so I cannot give you feedback on them.
I did all my research on Coach Training a couple of years ago. I 'd be happy to share more with you in a PM if you like.
You might also bear in mind that it takes time to build up a coaching practice and you might not be able to leave the day job immediately. Any good training company should tell you that.
I wish you all the very best for the future.

Hello moonsue,
I've moved your thread over from New Members to the Life Coaching forum.
Though I cannot comment personally on the organisation you mention because I have no direct experience of them, may I suggest you might like to have a look through some of the links on the Training 'sticky' I put together a little while ago, and which is pinned to the top of this forum, or click on this link:
You'll find that some of the websites give excellent advice generally on the subject of training and selecting a training organisation, which I hope is helpful to you in your investigations.
Best wishes,

Hi,
I gained my Life Coaching Diploma with a company called Acheivement Specialists based in Bournemouth. The contact there is a lady called Curly Martin and you can check out their website if you want to read up about them. They offer very good support even after you have qualified and they are the organisation that I chose after much reseacrch on the ones available out there.
Hope this helps. Good luck.

Hi Moonsue
I did my training with the Coaching Academy, but I would really agree with everyones suggestion on 'do your research'!!
It depends whether you want someone to hold your hand through your study or just take it and run with it yourself.
Have you had coaching yourself? I am happy to have a discussion with you about it and I've PM'd you.
I initially trained with New Insights after obtaining my certificate I went on a 'free weekend' with the Coaching Academy and signed up to their Personal Performance and Corporate & Executive coaching diplomas. I have gone on to do further courses with them. The good thing is that you have the personal contact with other students at the weekend accelerator days. The downside is that they over promise, under deliver, most courses are based in Bucks so if you live in the North it works out expensive for travel and hotels and quite draining with traveling long distances.
Whichever route you take it is worth getting your own coach anyway to keep you motivated and on track. Whilst doing mutual pro bono is a good way to get experience in coaching, it is just not the same as getting a professional experienced coach to work with on your journey.
I trained with Coaches Training Institute and highly recommend their life-changing course. Their focus is much more on your own personal development, which I loved as as a Coach, you can't take clients to places you haven't been before, so being stretched in your own development is vital.
I would also highly recommend getting a Coach, it's invaluable so get the best you can afford.
In love, light and abundance x x x
Update?
Hi Moonsue
Would be great to hear an update regarding your original quest?
Hi
I went to One Life Live and spoke to plenty of people offering life coaching training... but not many people actually 'selling' life coaching!
One guy was saying that there is no saturation this may be true but there is definately a saturated market when it comes to wanting to train people up in it!
I have decided to go for a Level 2 (Edexcel qualification) distance learning via Newcastle College. It is part funded which means I'll only have to pay around £500. I have also decided to go along to a Life Club at £15 a week I think it will work out more cost effective than having a 1:2:1 plus I can observe how others deal with their life changing which will give me more 'food for thought' when considering what kind of life coach I want to be.
