i am really having problem in dealing with my negative thoughts. when every i am going to do some work or activity my mind start sending me the negative signal regarding that work. Some time i really get panic with these types of thoughts but i never get any solution. Though i read may books for POSITIVE THINKING. Please help.

I have analyzed that negative thoughts mostly come for these reasons:
1. When we dont have self confidence.
2. When we dont have any purpose in life.
3. Tough we have purposein lifebut we dont take actions on them.
In my case 3rd point is the main reason i mostly get negative thoughts. I make planand change them often and looking for concreat plan before acting on them but if i got good planI hadnever kept consistency on acting those plans.
But now I made a plan and keep acting on them but when i feel i make little change to improve my plan. I am getting better on this Day by day

well, thouts are not to be unthought. have u ever tried not to think about a big pink elefant when u arebeing asked not to? try it... [:o]
sssoo what u may do, as first aid, before digging into resoning,with distorbing thouts is to swich them to good thoughts, insteed of tring not to think them, which people often tend to do...
for ex. if youare on your way to work, and the thought you have are: what a bommer, i hate this job, i don't like my co's and they don't like me, it will probably be another bad bad day, i wish i could be in india now insteed of being here
swich it - what a wonderfull day, i am so happy i hav ea job, because it meens thet i have money, i can rent my own appartment, and other benifits... my co's are just people, exectly like me, is there anything nice i can do for them today? etc.
i myself have applied this tectique on several issues, and it workad for me. as one of my coachees said - "you fake it untill you make it".
one more way of practicingalternative thinking is "natural toughts" - you focus on basic, feeling-free toughts like - table, dog, red pencile, etc. once u notice thinking - big dog, i'm affraid it may attac me, you breath in, look up, say thank u, and go back to thinking natural thouts. u can find more of this method on the "Byron Katy morning meditayion" cd. i realy liked it, and i reccomend all her stuff, though not everybody sharemy enthusiasm

What basically i learned about negative thoughts is that never fight with them and never force to block them the more you block them the more intense they will become. The best you all can do is just divert your thinking to the most positive thinking for its alternate like the one you gave in example in your respone. By doing this we can eliminate the negative thoughts to great extent.
