* LINKS TO WEBSITES - TRAINING etc *

Training and related topics crop up frequently here in the Life Coaching forum. Here is a list of links to websites giving relevant information and resources for training and accreditation, and a few about coaching generally. Some are UK only, some USA, some worldwide. Obviously there will be some duplications of training providers on the various websites listed.

Please feel free to add to this list, although we regret that members cannot advertise THEIR OWN training courses here. There is a link to the Advertising section of Healthypages at the top of every page, from the Home tab, top left.

[This new link replaces the one originally here to Learn Direct. Same page, but now on a different website, as this aspect has now been taken over by Careers Advice.]

Coaching training - job profile information page re coaching – concise and comprehensive, with a section on what to look for in a training course. Useful links, see Further Information (bottom of that page).

The Coaching & Mentoring Network, on their Training and Accreditation page under Resources, courses are categorised according to type of organisation, type of course, and location … UK, USA, Europe and Australia.

--------------------------------

Also via the Careers Advice page: Training providers can also be found on the website of the Association for Coaching:

This is a huge site …. there are some interesting articles here on the future of coaching, by Dave Buck, who inherited Coachville on the untimely death a few years ago of its founder, Thomas Leonard, who is also said to be the founder or "father” of coaching. Training courses, teleclasses.

---------------------------------

As the above, great resources, directories of coaches with a search facility, marketing for coaches, ecourses, teleclasses. Corporate, personal and small business coaching related.

The other links in the right side bar of this site are well worth exploring.

Page which links to pdf article by David Matthew Prior, MCC, Co-Chair, ICF Ethics & Standards Committee, 'Professional Coaching Language for Greater Public Understanding©'. The link for the pdf is on the right of the page.

Basically, it's an article about communicating with clients, the general public and the media in language that does not confuse coaching with other professions which may appear similar. Includes very clear distinction, in simple table form, of the differences in terminology between Psychotherapy and Coaching. Recommended reading.

Thanks Laura for your hard work putting all this together, I'll be ploughing my way through some of these links in the very near future.

I'd like to add a link of my own for the NLP Coaching course I did with Nick Cooke. I was really pleased with the course and the delivery, so would advise anyone to try it.

EDITED 6.8.07 to correct link.

Updated

Just a brief post to say that the info in post #1 here has now been updated, to replace some broken links and add others, together with a reminder to members that unfortunately they cannot post links to their own training organisations here.

Coaching Reports for Free

Hi everyone,

As a coach who has been working with clients for a couple of years now I came across the following resource a short while ago.

I have downloaded the free report that were on offer, and have tailored them to suit my needs. In fact, I now use them to attract clients and also to give away as interesting information to clients. I don't know an awful lot about the company that is producing these reports, all I can say is I have found them very interesting and helpful indeed.

To access them just go to .

Happy reading 🙂

Thanks
Akumar

I did a qualification with The Coaching Academy and i found it really useful for me because they gave me loads of tools and techniques that i couldn't have mastered myself. I met a group of other Coaches to help me practice my skills and my mentor was great on helping me to figure out what niche i wanted to go into and for when i had any challenging moments with my clients. Although you don't need a qualification if you want to be insured then its worth getting one and if i could compare the person i was before i did a qualification VS the person i was after doing one i would say the skills i learnt were so valuable and they have changed my personal life as well, the way i communicate with my friends and family as well as with my clients has completely transformed. I would totally recommend the coaching academy if you are in the UK they were amazing trainers and have always been willing to go the extra mile compared to other providers that take your money and vanish. They do a free 2-day course thing if you want to check them out
