Hello All!
My name is Merna Throne and I am from the USA. This website and forums are wonderful with a subject on so many fascinating topics. I have been in the Life Coach field since 2004 working with people all over the world. In addition, an academy of excellence training individuals.
My question is how popular is personal coaching whether Life Coach or Grief Coach or another unique niche in the the UK? I have had students from here and gain some insight about the UK, but would love to get various opinions. Is this field gaining momentum?
With all due respect, do people really shy away from therapy and coaching as it would an embarrassment to ask for help? I have heard this hear and there, so I am interested in UK so I can understand or if it is not true too. In the US it seems people would rather go to a coach than a therapist because it feels empowering to tell their friends they have a life coach vs a therapist. Which it should not be this way at all. Each are very empowering!
Love being here!

Hi Merna - Welcome to HealthyPages.
Hope you get some answers soon. My impression people do not usually go much for coaching or therapy, though perhaps it is changing a bit.
Thanks Caroline! Yes, that is what I have heard and it is the same with therapy here, but coaching seems fine. Coaching is a great gateway to therapy too. Times evolved and things do change.
