I have two children aged 4 and 20 months. I gave up work (sales, travel long hours, wouldn't want to go back) to stay with the children until they started school. The eldest has just started and I am jut starting to think about what I want to do. I run marathons so think I would like to do something that involves fitness. I am finding it hard to imagine working again as I am in a happy bubble of family and general life but I know that I will need to do something when my youngest starts school. I was wondering if there are any books anyone could recommend, something inspirational or anything else. I am open to ideas and excited about what my future holds!

Thank you.

When I was in the similar situation, I found some amazing books in spiritual/philosophy section of the local library. That section is full of self-help books, quasi spiritual, philosophical books from various traditions. There is every imaginable topic covered in this section including healing, fengshui, crystals, yoga, etc
Some of the life changing stuff came from that librarry. The local library is a great place to explore various areas of interest and ususually one stumbles upon great gems of knowlege and wisdom.
wish you luck

Hi Daffodil

I'm a student life coach and need to build up 60 hours of coaching experience as part of my qualification. If you would like it, I can offer you free telephone coaching so you can talk things through.

I can provide contact details of my course tutors if you'd like to reassure yourself. I've also coached quite a few people from this site so I'm sure I can arrange a reference if you'd like one.

Thanks and good luck 🙂

Sophie

HI there

Only you know what sort of guidance and support you need rght now.
A Life Coach could be the person to help support, guide and give you the clarity right now but only you can tell that.
Lots of us Coaches offer sample sessions so you can get to try out the power of coaching and also see if the coach is a good fit for you.
As these sessions are free I'd say try a few sessions with different coaches and see what happens.

There are lots of books around also to help...One fabulous one is called The Element by Lou Aronica.

Best wishes

Maybe

HI

Well the only person who can decide that is you. A coach will guide, support, challenge and create a safe environment for you to explore all the possiblities and help you on your path.
Try some out - most Coaches offer Sample sessions. It's important to find the right coach for you.

Warmest wishes

Claire

Your choice

Good afternoon!

I just read this post and I'd like to say that, as another person said, only you can decide what is best for you. While there are many self help or motivational books and websites that you can look into, a life coach might be what suits you best. You have to decide that though as you know yourself best. If you are looking for a life coach though you have to "feel" your way to the one that suits you and will understand you and your needs. While I have never had a person that has come hire me, think that it's "not a good fit" I imagine that they first searched many others out. When it comes to a life coach, you want one that compliments your life, not create or complicate it. For example, hiring a life coach that doesn't have an children might not be the best choice as he or she wouldn't understand or be able to empathize with your feelings. This is of course could be one of the questions you ask during the "weeding out" process.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to email me at info@lmmlifecoaching.com or see my site for faster answers: LMM Life Coaching - Home

I hope I have helped in some small way!
Have a great day!

A life coach can certainly help you to discover yourself again and find more direction in what you want to get out of life. As Claire mentioned most coaches offer free intro session, which will help you to determine if
- Coaching is for you
- You are able to connect with your Coach

Good luck

Yes at a time we all need a person who can listen to our problems and give respective solutions so it's good to talk rather than be depressed. All the best

You are facing a situation that almost everyone does!

At a time you are interested in doing fitness activities while on the other you want to read books that may inspire you. Books are of course the best knowledgeable sources but are not sufficient enough to let you choose what you like. So I advise you to take help of a Life Coach.
