Can I just ask - why is it so expensive? I have just done my first session of 2 and a half hours of which if I was paying full price it would have cost me £150. I saw an ad for 4 guinea pig sessions of which i pay a donation. I have 3 sessions left but after this I feel that if I need any more - £150 is rather steep - isn't it~? Am I being sceptical??[:-]
RE: But why?
Hi,
You are a Reiki master and Massage Therapist. Is this a full time occupation for you? Or are you partner supported. I'm only asking these questions, because you asked why was life-coaching so expensive. What do you need to charge to do what you do? And think about what you need the income for. Most therapists charge anything from £15 to £60 for a 1 hour session. A good deal of therapists are partner supported and do not need to charge for their time, their expertise and their results. Unfortunately this then sets a precedent and an expectation that therapy should not cost too much money even when the results may be stupendous and the client ends up with their life back.
I am not a life-coach, although I have done some training and no that life-coaching is different to therapy in so much as it can catapault someone on to much greater life achievements, health, wealth and happiness. So what price your life and the benefits you will gain? Money is energy - it doesn't actually exist, it just goes round and round.
RE: But why?
Hi DipIntoHealing,
I guess it's good to focus on what that investment will bring to you.
If you end up with a new job, for example that fuels your soul, brings a pay increase and frees up some of your time to spend on the pursuits you enjoy, then isn't it worth every penny?
If you end up with the partner of your dreams because your self esteem rockets, then what price on that?
Or if you finally get to the gym, give up the cigarettes, lose three stone and tone your heart then you might live an extra 20 years - I reckon that's a good price to pay!
i think we need to turn around our views on money sometimes. I'm on benefits, yet I prioritise organic food. Most people think I am crazy, but I choose this rather than holidays, a new car, lots of new clothes, alcohol or cigarettes.
We don't think twice about booking our car in for a service or repairs and that can cost hundreds, yet we baulk at doing the same for our physical or emotional health.
I have a friend who complains about struggling to meet her bills every month. She just had an unexpected windfall of £3000 and has decided to take the family on a 'once-in-a-lifetime' holiday. Is that a good use of money?
It's a very personal and emotive subject and we have to look deep within to figure out our values and beliefs so that we can use the energy of money in the best way for ourselves.
Perhaps you could play devils advocate to yourself. Are you willing to spend £150 on yourSELF and improving your life - are you worth it?
How would this compare with spending £150 on your partner / child for a Birthday present or on a weekend away............

RE: But why?
I have found that if I give tarot readings to people for free they tend to not value the reading your time or your skills, the the following week wantto check that the reading will be the same!It is better to charge even friends (bottle of wine etc) as then it is an exchange of energy and the recipient appreciates your services more.
Perhaps the fact that you do not feel worthy of the expense of the life coaching fees is a symptom of why you also need them. Life coaching can bring you a deeper respect of your self, time, needs and what you are worth?
I agree that some therapist (in all forms of services) can be expensive but there are also ones which charge less. The charge isnt necesarily in line with the serives offered. I have bought several books that have been great, so for the cost of say £10, you can read, put it into action, then go back and see how your doing!
I devoured Dr Phil's Life Strategies, a very wise man who brought about so many Ahaaaaa! moments for me.
