Hello, I am a student working towards completing my Diploma in Cognitive Coaching and Mentoring. For one of my last assignments I need to interview a coach. I do not know anyone personally so it's a difficult task for me. Are there any practicing coaches who wouldn't mind answering a few questions for me? I would really appreciate that as it would help me complete my last assignment in coaching. The answers need to be really short. Altogether, the whole interview must be about 500 words long.

The questions are as follows. I would be really grateful if one of you could help me with this.

1. Why did you decide to become a coach?
2. How long have you been coaching for?
3. In what context do you coach?
4. What do you do in your work as a coach?
5. How does your experience differ from your your prior expectations of what coaching would be like?
6. What are the main challenges you face in your coaching work?
7. What do you consider to be the most important traits / character qualities of a good coach?
8. What do you consider to be the main benefits of coaching for clients?
9. What do you find personally rewarding in your work as a coach?
10. Would you recommend coaching to people who are interested in becoming a coach? Why?
11. What are the insights or advice that you can give to someone considering becoming a coach?

It will be very interesting to hear from you all, for the assignment and personal insights reasons. Thank you very much for your time and I look forward to your replies!

Oksana 🙂

h this.

1. Why did you decide to become a coach?

I didn't. It came as part of my hypnotherapy training

2. How long have you been coaching for?

Not done much yet as I only qualified 2 years ago
3. In what context do you coach?

Not sure I understand what you are asking about

4. What do you do in your work as a coach?

I help people discover themselves!!

5. How does your experience differ from your your prior expectations of what coaching would be like?

I had none

6. What are the main challenges you face in your coaching work?

Finding clients!!

7. What do you consider to be the most important traits / character qualities of a good coach?

Empathy, patience,,

8. What do you consider to be the main benefits of coaching for clients?

Clients can get the insights they need to help them move from a situation that is unsatisfactory to one that is better.

9. What do you find personally rewarding in your work as a coach?

Seeing the light bulb moment when people realise THEY can sort their problem out- and don;t need help from anyone else,

10. Would you recommend coaching to people who are interested in becoming a coach? Why?

It would depend on why they were thinking about it. coach needs to have a desire to work with people. If they don;t have that then no I would not

11. What are the insights or advice that you can give to someone considering becoming a coach?

I come at coaching from a very spiritual angle. I do psychic readings and they often turn into mini coaching session. So my advice would be if it feels right do -it. I know not all coaches need to have a spiritual approach though.

It will be very interesting to hear from you all, for the assignment and personal insights reasons. Thank you very much for your time and I look forward to your replies!
