I made a new years resolution to sort my life out. Sounds quite vague I know, but I've broken it down into bits and I'm concentrating on one bit at a time.
At the moment I'm working on the looking after myself bit, something I tend not to do as I'm too busy making sure everyone else is ok! As I've just taken on a room at a gym and the owner has given me free gym membership, I've cancelled my Bannatynes membership. I've not been much since it changed over from Living Well anyway.
I do enjoy going to the gym so I'm planning on using my membership but I know that I'll get bored of just going to the gym. So, I'm looking for other things to do along side plodding along on the treadmill and sweating it out on the cross trainer. I've started pilates at work (my office job has a lady come in once a week to give a class) and I'm going to start ice skating again (going tomorrow evening).
Does anyone else do any other not so normal forms of exercise that they can recommend?
Hi Nefra and well done on your resolution and going to gym.
I must admit I need to look at that area of my life but although embarrasing to my sons I find throwing on a dance cd or for example, here on Friday nights we have hours of 80's music. Just dance, move around whatever way you want to. Do the moves you would never dream of doing on a real dancefloor!!!!
Also, skipping, trying to do 100 skips without tripping up or stopping, a challenge but you will feel your efforts.
Will we see you on Dancing on Ice? Enjoy your skating tomorrow.
Love Rachel
i've ordered this:
That looks fun! Let me know how you get on with it.
You won't see me on Dancing on Ice, no. I hate figure skates, I trip over the toe pick. I skate in hockey skates. Used to play a little and work with a hockey team so spend half my life down there anyway, just not on the ice, unless my players get hurt and then I have to walk on the ice which I really don't enjoy doing!
Hi Nefra,
We have a Karate club in your area, if you're interested PM me and I'll give you the details.
My wife, son and I all do karate and think it's a wonderful way of keeping fit. It doesn't matter how fit you are to start with because the training is inclusive for every age and ability.
Myarka.
