Hi, I have a lovely oleander (sorry if spelling's wrong!) that's flowered before, but for the past two years, it's produced loads of buds that refuse to open. It's in its usual spot, in a large pot, in a sheltered, sunny place, and kept out of the elements in the winter. I only feed it a little and water it generously when it's very dry. I'm reckoning that if they grow so easily in places like south France they can't be that hard but wonder what's gone wrong with mine lately.
Just wondered if anyone had any ideas.....? Thanks. Hom

Hello Hom:wave:

Oleanders like sun and heat. Given our dodgy summer, this year it's probably too cold for them to flower.;) If the summer ever heats up you should get your flowers back.:D

BTW, gardeners are often disappointed when they buy them from greenhouses in beautiful flower, only to find that they lose the buds when planted outside.

Thanks for replying Moonfairy. Mm, I had a feeling someone might say it's the dodgy weather and I'm sure you're right. I just wondered whether there was anything I could do next year, to encourage it to flower. It's strange because it has always flowered and I've had it for many years. I wonder if the cold winters we've had, has affected it at all (although it hasn't been out in the weather). It's so frustrating to see all the buds but no flowers!!!!! Hom
