maca worries

I went into Planet Organic yesterday to get something for my hormonal issues.

The lady recommended maca.

So I got some.

But am horrified to read reviews and articles online that say it can increase butt and breast size!

I want to balance my hormones [as I seem to be entering the first stages of perimenopause, and I've always had hellish PMS]. But I absolutely don't want to increase the size of my body, or weight...

I am recovering from a restrictive eating disorder, and have got to a comfortable and medically safe weight now.

Help!

I've taken one dose, just now. But I'm reluctant now to take it again. One capsule can't damage me can it?

One dose will do no harm whatsoever. Also, you would need to eat huge quantities of it to affect weight. I know it is used in males to supposedly increase virility - but it's hard to prove! It's a root vegetable, and used in south america as an animal feed.

Thanks.
It did help me feel calmer, that first dose, so I tried another dose yesterday, which did also have a calming effect. And no weird body changes as yet!

BUT I had the most HORRENDOUS hot flushes for over an hour last night. I'm ovulating, so I guess it's that. But I'm taking maca to HELP with that, not seemingly make it worse..
Ack.

Does anyone have any ideas?
