Hi,

About 3 years ago, I had cryosurgery treatment for Cervical Erosion, which helped clear up all problems I was having at the time.
However, I have recently been experiencing the same symptoms, and have been to my GP who has now referred me to the Gynaecologist.

Symptoms include bleeding in between periods, bleeding after intercourse, pain during intercourse and generally feeling ‘unwell’ with regards to periods/intercourse.

I am on the pill, and have recently gained weight and appear to be and feel bloated (this may however just be me feeling sorry for myself…!)

I was wandering whether anyone knows what else these symptoms could relate to, or if you think it could be my pill (I have been on the same pill for the last 10 years).

My GP who has referred me to the gynaecologist is a different one to the one I saw before, my new GP hasn’t really asked me many questions – I just told him that I was experiencing the same symptoms as before and therefore I presumed it was the same thing.

Will the gynaecologist just do a smear test? I was told it was a general examination??

Any information would be great,
Thank you!
🙂

RE: Cervical Erosion

Hi there
I've had a cervical erosion myself so can can empathize with what you have been through regarding this.
I have also experienced all the symptoms mentioned in your post. In my case it was due to the fact that i had a large ovarian cyst. (twice) I've also had these symptoms when i was diagnosed with fibroids.

Whenever i have seen a gynaecologist, internals and smears tend to go hand in hand with them .

RE: Cervical Erosion

Thanks very much for your response, I have to wait a few weeks for my appointment, its in May.

Trouble is, I have a bit of a dilemma..

I am going on holiday at the end of April, but my period is also due at that time so I was planning on taking back to back pills, but this would mean that I wouldn't have a period until AFTER my gyn appointment - do you think this would affect my examination?

Thanks for your comments, much appreciated x

RE: Cervical Erosion

Does sound like symptoms of an erosion (ex-nurse talking) but ofcourse you need to get expert exam to check and treat. I should think you'll have a smear as well as a general gynae exam - but experienced gynaecologists can judge quite welll, what's up, by the look of things :). (I've also been on the receiving end of such treatments [&:])

Regarding taking 2 packets of pills back to back - it shouldn't make any different to your exam results. He / she'll need to know your last period date so you'll also need to clarify that you've done 2 packets without a break when you're consulted. You're just advised not to have a smear when having a period because the smear might be too bloody to see the cells clearly.

Best wishes
