Hi all,
I have a 14 yr old daughter who suffers with terrible acne.
She has had facials , cleanse-tones and conditions daily with a mild product (not sure if i can name product).
She exercises regularly, very fit, has a healthy diet, drinks lots andof water.
I understand thismay be purelyhormonal as she started her periods 6 months ago.
Does anyone have any other remedies or ideas that she could try.
She also wears foundation to try to cover it and know that it doesn't help , although she feels better thinking that it hides it.
I dont want her to go down the medicinal route, so any advice or tips would be appreciated.
Thanks Jazz x
RE: Teenage Acne
I can sympathise with your daughter because i went through exactly the same thing!!! My acne started when i began menstruating at the age of 14, and i still suffer to some degree now.
Its great that she drinks plenty of water and eats a healthy diet, but sometime hormones can be so strong, that there really is nothing you can do to help with this, without going down the medical route. I was prescribed the contraceptive pill when i was sixteen because my acne got so bad.I had tried topical creams, antibiotics, but nothing seemed to work. I am still taking the pill and it has improved my skin, however i do still suffer from a break out at that time of the month.
Why not tryseeing a herbalist or even try homeopathy? Iam not too hot on these subjects, but they may help, so why not give it ago?
Reflexology may also help. A therapist will be able to do plenty of work on your daughters endocrine system reflexes to help bring about hormonal balance, which may be at the root of the problem.
Hope this helps xxx

RE: Teenage Acne
Dear jazzelle your question about ‘ANCE’ got me thinking. I know people personally who have suffered due to this but I guess not everyone would understand the challenges till faced with similar circumstances. Anyways, I did a bit of research and found an article which says Herbal blend that can help with acne consists of equal parts of the herbal extracts of sarsaparilla, yellow dock, burdock, and cleavers. These herbs are believed to be potent blood and lymph cleansers. Half a teaspoon per day of this blend can be taken three times per day combined with a healthy diet.
I found this article at [DLMURL] http://www.medical-health-care-information.com/acne-skin-care.html [/DLMURL] Maybe you would want to read more about it there. I hope it’s helpful in some way to you. Regards, vijay shrivastava
