Hi

Does anyone know of a good long lasting natural deodorant which isn't tested on animals?
I have tried deodorant crystal, tom 's of maine long lasting roll on and forever living deodorant but none of them seem to do the trick!

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanx
Charleen 🙂

I was going to say try a crystal deodorant. They work fine for me. But then I saw you have tried them. Which did you try and how did it not work? Are you actually looking for an antiperspirant rather than a deodorant?

Ive tried faith in nature crystal, where u wet it then apply it to your skin.
Im looking for a deodorant not a antiperspirant to keep BO away as when ive tried these deodorants i still get BO from just normal sweating when its hot.

Top of my list is Desert Essence 'dry by nature' stick - works a treat even doing hard physical work all day long in summer. It claims to be deodorant not antiperspirant despite the name. I'm using a Toms of Maine stick at the moment and it seems fine so far.

Sticks seem to be much better than the roll-ons and better value too.

Weleda sage spray seems ok also. There are other options but how many do you need?

The crystals still contain aluminium as far as I can tell, they claim not to contain certain aluminium compounds but I think that's not the whole story. Anyone from Pitrok care to comment?

If you're still getting BO it can be your shirts, bacteria can live on them. Boil washing them occasionally is one way to check this. I have had one or two shirts that just stank after five minutes of wearing, in the end just had to get rid of them.

Just googled Pitroc and found this.

No aluminium chlorohydrate or aluminium zirconium – both associated with underarm irritation.

And

INGREDIENTS:

Ammonium Alum (pure natural mineral salts).

That's the one I use and I think it's great. Used it travelling for 3 weeks through 30 degree heat in Spain one year and not a niff. 🙂

You can make an all natural deoderant at home from stuff you can find around your house like starch and essential oils (I prefer lavender). Just do a search in google for natural deoderant recipe or somthing similar. Like others here I use a crystal deodorant and really like it, no chemical smell and I don't tend to smell either

The only deodorant that I've tried that has COMPLETELY neutralize body odor was this essential oil and colloidal silver roll-on deodorant I bought from my local farmers market. It doesn't leave streaks on clothing either.

I am a new member so I can't post links but the company is called Silver Botanicals and they have an online shop on their website.

I heard that Apple cider vinegar can be used as a deodorant too, haven't tried it yet though
