Didnt know where to post this but need assistance. On june 6 i had a delicate reconstructivw surgery on my male anatomy for a birth defect. 2 weeks after surgery about 1.5 inches of my 6 inch incision blew apart. The dr left it open for 2 days said there was no infection amd reclosed it. What is going to prevent it from coming apart again? He was very vague on how to care for it. I am a nurse myself and habe been doing 2 a day changes with aquacel ag to prevemt infection amd wick away exudate with a primapore over it. Do any of you habe any ideas on what i can do to get this to heal? The top of the incision healed beautifully this last 1.5 inches didnt look likenot scabbed epithelialized nothing. I habe heaed manuka honey works well can it be used over sutures?

I'd seriously suggest going back to, or contacting, your doctor to ask about any issues you've got with the healing of their procedure.
Manuka Honey does have natural antibacterial properties, though not sure about applying it on open wounds like that.

Thanks. Issue is inhad to travle 4 hours to get to a surgeon that fixes this amd the local drs have washed thier hands of it. The surgeon is great will talk in the phone all the time but hard to drive back and forth all the time
Do you have a local emergency facility? If there is a problem with the wound, it needs to be fixed and you should get help immediately - that part of the anatomy is very easily compromised with infection. I'm guessing you are not in the UK.
