My 2 year old daughter had a bad cough and cold which started 2weeks ago. She is a lot better now but still has a cough sometimes which wakes her in night. I caught it off her a week ago or more, and it's just not going! I was coughing up blood last weekend because o coughed so much. I already have asthma and it's making it really hard to breath well and getting me down..

I don't really want to take any medicine eg antibiotics, unless I have to. I'm concerned about when I go into labour, as i'l need all the energy I can get, and I need to be able to breath well. I have rhinitus and a cold, and tooth ache on top of this too..

Can anyone help? X

Hi Efia
I just felt like giving you a pick me up hug, so here I am.
Lemon and honey etc? I am sure you have tried all that...

I found this, for cough. [DLMURL] http://complete-education.blogspot.co.uk/2008/12/vaayu-shaamak-or-vaayu-mudra.htmlworth [/DLMURL] a try?
Just read thorough, it might also help with anxiety and breathlessness.
best wishes for a safe birth.

Hi efia,

Try now:

Complete Person: Vaayu-shaamak or Vaayu mudra

🙂

(both of Jnani's original links are for same page)

Hi efia

Have a look at my advice on HP re coughs. Breathing in stem from a pan of newly boiled water with olbas oil or vics in it, with a towel over the head can help to loosen/soothe the lungs. Fresh air is always helpful if it is not too cold outside - wrpa a scarf round your face to keep some warmth in if it is.

Hope you feel better soon

Thanks everyone. Wildstrawberry, this technique sounds very basic, is it really just a case of holding your thumb and index finger together for 45 mins a day? Anything else you have to do?

Thanks Caroline for reminding me of this technique, I did it when I was a kid.

Blessings, Efia

Hi efia,

I haven't had a lot of experience with Mudras myself, I just fixed Jnani's link so you could take a look. I believe they are really that simple :);) Good Luck. Hope all goes well.
