Hi Hprs saw this article today and thought I would share. It is news that will give many families and cf sufferers hope. It was an article in the Irish times, by Fiona Gartland, "A NEW drug has been shown to improve lung function, weight and quality of life in people who have a particular strain of cystic fibrosis (CF), a conference on the condition was told at the weekend". The link for anyone who may be interested is: .
Can anyone tell me whether or not ALL people genetically disposed to CF actually manifest the disease? Or do some people go through life without being affected?
Hi Heinz a lot of people carry the gene but it doesnt affect them. for to have cf both parents have to have the gene and there is a one in four chance of the child having cf. although i have known one family where 3 out of four had cf. hope this answers your question
this may help. i have included link.
