Hi,
I wanted to ask everyone's opinion of surrogacy here. It is growing as a market in the US, Canada and other parts of the world. And yet, still -- so strictly forbidden in France. Do you think French government/law/court should legalize the procedure? My question is: what are the issues involved with surrogacy, aside from ethical and legal. Is it medically unsafe? Thanks in advance.
I can see that some countries may have legal issues around it, but I can't see that there are ethical issues... what can be ethically wrong with one person choosing to help another? unless of course that is perceived through the eyes of one who has prejudices.
Any medical procedure could be considered 'unsafe' (the medical community insists on it being, so they can't be blamed if anything does go wrong). However, a woman having a baby, whether as a surrogate or otherwise, is no more dangerous than it has always been; though nowadays we have better medical care for mothers giving birth.
Why do you ask? Are you in France? Are you considering using a surrogate, or being a surrogate?
Hello, I am sure surrogacy is a safe method and came to help couples. There are people who are not happy with their marriages any longer because they have no child. The fruit of love is a child. Not most people believe that childlessness is God's will. No one will be like the Biblical Sarah and Abraham. For countries like France that are yet to legalize it, they are doing more harm than good to their members. They are the frequent visitors in countries like India, US, and Ukraine for these services. For instance, a clinic in Kiev Bio Tex Com just showed a graph of French and English speaking visitors that they receive. You will be amazed. The lawmakers in France should take an action. They should speak for their people. They can find themselves in the same situation. What will they do? Let them show they care for their members and legalize surrogacy.
No, my dear. It is not at all unsafe. Many people get to have their babies through this treatment all the time. It is just like a normal pregnancy. Although the risks attached to a normal pregnancy are always there. I am an infertile lady. Surrogacy seems like a life-saver to me. The problem with my country is that it has also declared it to be illegal. I really don't get what's the real problem with it. All we get through surrogacy is a baby. no weaposnd of mass distruction are produced through it. Making it illegal seems like a stupid step. I wan to make my family complete and surrogacy seems like my only option. My state has just made things more difficult for me. I am glad that I found a place to it done from. they are gonna take care of the legal documents for me.
If you are in Europe why not to travel to Ukraine or another country the law of which is more flexible.
We are from the US and we chose Ukraine as our surrogacy destination and signed with the agency there (WCOB)
