Hi Clio, most 1 days courses are enough to learn pregnancy massage.

If you already have a qualification in massage, the pregnancy course main intails positioning of Mother and bump, contraindictions and precautions.

Try a day course first, if you feel its not enought it will still be a good stepping stone for you.

Massage for Pregnant Women course in London I’ve done my cert at Gateway Workshops

I’ve done my cert at Gateway Workshops.
It was 1 day course, but in very small group – just 2 people.
In order to get Pregnancy Massage certificate, you will have to hold recognized holistic massage cert.
I have Msc degree in Physiotherapy and practice at 4foryou and they do not have any objections with issuing a certificate for me and approving for the course.

Hi Clio, I had already carried out 4 days training in maternity reflexology before I did my 1 day pregnancy massage course else where and I have to say that I use all my maternity reflexology consulation forms for massage as they are much more thorough. The contraindications and common problems during pregnancy could only be touched on very briefly in a 1 day course and was taught by a fellow massage therapist whereas my maternity reflexology training was taught by a midwife and the difference was huge.

I would recommend you looked into the courses run by Denise Tiran for working with pregnant clients as she runs courses for midwifes and therapists alike so you can be sure to gain the knowledge that you need. Her website is <a class="go2wpf-bbcode" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="www.expectancy.co.uk/">www.expectancy.co.uk/

Hope that helps! Tracey 🙂
