Hello,

please can i ask for your help. I have just found out I am pregnant> i had a period on the 5th december for three days. I went for a scan yesturday and the baby couldnot be detected (its either ectopic or there is not enough hormone to detect yet). I am currently in a relationship with a new boyfriend ( 4 months) but stupidly slept with my ex on christmas eve. Is it possible that the baby is my ex because it was only 13 days ago and i am not sure if that would show on a pregancy test?

Thank you for your advice.

Have you had a regular pregnancy test - peeing on a stick - blood test etc? It is still very early days, but I would have thought too early for anything to show on a scan - did you get it done privately? I had problems with a suspect ectopic 20 years ago, but they wouldn't scan as they didn't think anything would show up - as it was I miscarried after 8 weeks.
As for who is the father - can't really comment - it could be either man if you had unprotected sex with them during that part of your cycle, and only testing the baby would truly answer that question.

Hi,

Don't know the actual hormone levels involved, but had a +ve test & expected to be much further along when I had my scan, but the sonographer said that a test shows a +ve result with a certain amount of the hormone present, but that the scan needed about 100 times as much to show. My test was +ve only 5 days after conceiving! & was a cheap £3 one from Tesco!

I hope that you get the answer that you are looking for hun. `Remember that you are the most important person in all of this & take care of you!

Bestest wishes,
Lyns
