Hi,
Can anyone tell me how soon after conception you might start getting morning sickness. I was only ovulating on Friday/Saturday and I felt a bit sick this morning (Tuesday), maybe it was just wishful thinking!
Thanks
RE: Morning Sickness
Hi Denise
I supose we're all different when it comes to pregnancy, some people don't even get morning sickness & other people get all day sickness[:'(]but I got morning sickness after I was about 3 weeks pregnant:), in other words after I'd taken the pg test & I could put a lable on the 'yukky' feeling but I can't say for sure when morning sickness starts..

hi denise [sm=wave.gif]
with all 3 of my pregnancies, the sickness kicked in from 6 weeks and all varied in severity and length - i remember with my first child feeling ever soooo smug that the morning sickness was yet to kick in...a few days later..i wasn't feeling smug anymore..and to add insult to injury, it went on for 6 months!!

RE: Morning Sickness
Well it seems that things are not looking too good for me, I've had 2 blood tests in the last month to check my hormone levels and the results were not good. The doctor told me that it's very likely that I am peri-menopausal, I'm only 43. My level was 20 and apparently it should be at least 30+ to have a good chance of conceiving. I've never had a baby and whilst I've never been really really broody, I've always thought that if it happened I would be delighted and consider it a blessing. Does anyone know anything about these hormone levels and what they indicate?
Thanks everyone
RE: Morning Sickness
I swear I was sick the minute after I conceived.I hated being pregnant!

Hi Denise, what a shock for you[sm=hug.gif], sadly menopause can strick at any age, even as early as your teens, I went through it at 28 but then I got pregnant at 30:eek:, your doctor would of checked your LH & FSH hormone levels which indicate if you're going through menopause, but as far as I know (which isn't a great deal[&:]) you're hormone levels can change so you could ask your doctor for a repeat test, being in perimenopause could make your chances of getting pregnant more difficult but not impossible 😉

RE: Morning Sickness
Hi Amy,
Thanks so much for your advice. I suppose I got a bit excited when I usedan ovulation stick last monthfor the first time and it showed positive straight away. Then I was shocked when the doctor told me that the sticksare not a great indicator and that their blood test was really the true reading of my hormone levels. I suppose I feel like my chance has slipped through my fingers and I'm wondering where the last 20years went to. When we were young and trying not to get pregnant, we always felt like it happened so easily. I wish that was the case now.The feeling that I may never be that lucky makes me really sad.But hey, I am a big believer it "what's meant to be will be".
Keep well and healthy,
Love, D
