(or should I say morning, noon and night sickness!)

I though this section looked a little bare so I thought as a 3 month pregnant expectant Mum I would post a little bit of help to those like me who suffer with nausea and sickness through pregnancy!

I am a Reiki healer as is my partner and I have finally found something that works! Reiki!!! I suffer terrible and even my self healing hasnt helped and as for my partner healing me, well that has sent it spiralling even worse. I have found that seeing a female reiki healer when I'm tired through it is combatting the problem. So I strongly recommend it! :)v

congratulations!

how interesting... you are saying that you feel a female reiki practitioner is the answer? hmmmm...

as an aside, this post is the perfect example for cross posting! i am sure the reiki forum would be interested in your idea... particularly the men!! <g>

RE: morning sickness

Hi Samantha
Firstly CONGRATULATIONS, there are lots of really good things for morning sickness but hopefully now you are at the magic three months yours should wear off pretty soon.....

I cant comment on the reiki thing as I never really suffered with MSickness, but I also believe, ginger, or dry biscuits or even flat pepsi are very good (watch the caffiene in the pepsi though, we wouldnt want a jittery baby!)

Hope you are having lots of reflexology or are going too have as it is just fantastic for pregnancy and labour.

RE: morning sickness

HI there
there are several things you can try, as tigerbee suggested ginger either a biscuit, ginger made into a drink, the travel sickness bands you can by in the chemist that go on your wrists hel some women. also an apple is good at stopping it.
one consolation about sickness in pregnancy it is a sign that the fetus is well embedded into the uterus.
I hope you feel better soon, it will pass.
also reflexology is very good
Love

RE: morning sickness

Sorry Glynis but I have to take issue with this particular old wives' tale. After all, you can't get much more sick that hyperemesis, which I had with all my earlier pregnancies but didn't have with my two boys. In fact the only symprom of pregnancy I had with them was a loss of "sideways". The only thing I found that helped even slightly with serious sickness was Perrier (probably something to do with the dehydration), which you obviously can't have if you're involved in the Nestle boycott.

The discomforts of pregnancy are not compulsory. Don't suffer when you don't have to. There are lots of therapies available that can help you. Specialist maternity reflexology, homoeopathy or acupuncture use specific techniques or remedies to alleviate pregnancy sickness and are fantastic in helping with hyperemesis, although a maternity reflexologist would ask for evidence that you're being treated in the hospital if you have been diagnosed with HG rather than just bad pregnancy sickness. HG doesn't go away around 12-14 weeks for a start.

Many congratulations on your pregnancy physicsam. If you're not looking for other therapies, try Nicky Wesson's book "Pregnancy Sickness". It's full of fantastic tips.

Thank you for all your well wishes and congratulations.

The femal reiki healer element has defo made a huge difference, would cross post it as suggested but not sure how!:)

Have to say I was like it with my daughter as well 4 years ago and have tried most of the things suggested, didnt know about Reiki then and its definately an advantage. I think I will be doing a bit of reiki for pregnancy marketing.

Love and best wishes to you all Sam x

which wives tale,...obviously you can be more seriously ill but that is not the normal or thankfully that common too be ill throughout the entire pregnancy....

Some remedies will help some others will help different people we can but suggest but i figure as a midwife and reflexologist Glynis has probably seen a lot more pregnant and sick women than we will in our careers...

RE: morning sickness

Hi Lynne
Hyperemisis is totaly a different thing to normal sickness in pregnancy. it is something that needs hospital admission and treatment, as it can be quite serious.
so no the things I suggested would not help hyperemisis, but I did not think she was talking of that if she was she needs to go to her gp

RE: morning sickness

Hello everyone

I just thought I'd report in and say that the sickness / nausea has stopped now Im halfway through. For anyone who is suffering I really do recommend reiki and reflexology! They are both working a treat although I still cant cope with reiki from Steve, needs to be femal energy still for some reason.

That [:'(] look has gone and I can eat now!

best wishes Sam x[sm=wave.gif]
