This is a subject very close to my heart - I just want to know - why, as you are so excited about your news, would you want to poison a life growing inside you? Have you researched - google will do it for you - what happens to the developing foetus every time you light up?

I don't mean to come down on you so heavily, but I have seen first hand the damage that both smoking and drinking can do to babies.

Congratulations !
Smoking is an addiction so it does not really help being told what the smoker already knows.
Try reading Allen Carr's book "Easyway to stop smoking". Everyone who reads that book stops.
Good Luck

Hi there and welcome to HP

Congratulations about the baby. As far as smoking is concerned ther is a useful book 'How to Quit without Feeling S**t' which might be useful -see .

I'd also recommend - see here and find a practitioner [DLMURL="http://www.aamet.org/search/search-aamet-members-test.html"]here[/DLMURL].

If you are wanting the best for your baby there is a lot of very useful (science-based) information .

Hope all goes well with your pregnancy :).

im soming since im 17.
i already bought a e-cigarette, but that is cr**.
now i found something about shisa and vaporizer.
i tried shisha a few times, but i read it is also unhealthy.
vaporizer seems to be an innovation.

I agree wholeheartedly with the above.
I also find it incredible that if everyone reads a certain book they will stop! You don't need books/CDs/substitutes/third parties...Just stop! Oh oh, I can feel some people getting hot under the collar with my saying this but at the end of the day it can be done.

Unfortunately its not easy for a smoker to just stop. Nicotine is probably one of the most addictive drugs on the planet. For some reason threatening a smoker by reciting all the health risks does not work.If so why do smokers with lung cancer keep smoking ?

All the long term smokers that I know stopped after reading that book. I do not know anyone who has read that book and not stopped. Must be worth a shot if you are thinking of stopping !

Try EFT - it is totally natural and will help you with your boss thing and work stress at the same time 😎

It all depend on your will control. If you really love your baby then you won't smoke at all. Many women don't understand that it's really harmful for them and there children too.

Maybe try hynotherapy, or NLP.

But really, what ever method you try you'll still have to put in 100% effort. No method is a miracle cure for stopping smoking, or any addiction. YOU have to work at it, and its YOU who has to want to stop.

I wish you good luck, for you and your baby.

I realize this thread is old, but I quit after 15 years by not hanging out with fellow smokers anymore and just locked myself away for 3 days of the initial cravings. Now I feel fantastic and work out. Hopefully the same worked for you and for anyone in the future looking to quit!
