I know tea tree oils should not be used on skin while pregnant, but is there anything wrong with using oils for aromatherapy while pregnant?

Margaret Fawcett RGN RM LLSA in her book Aromatherapy for Pregnancy and Childbirth states that Tea Tree is safe throughout pregnancy and is also listed as a safe oil in pregnancy by Denise Tiran in her book Aromatherapy in Midwifery Practice. Please bear in mind that 1.5% dilution is generally used during pregnancy.

Tell me what makes you think Tea Tree should not be used on skin during pregnancy.

hiya Caster

I am not an aromatherpaist but I do work for and aromatherapy product company, and I am 4 months pregnancy.

What this company advises for pregnancy is nothing at all should be used during the first four months and then there are a select few oils etc that can be used after that, but heavily diluted. However, their pre-blended products are safe to use all the way through, I use their tea-tree facial wash

I am sure there are peeps out there that can advise you better tho, I can check about t-tree if you want

But I have made sure I have not had any contact with oils during the ifrst 4 months, just to be safe
