Hi all, my baby is 4 weeks old today. I've just got a moby wrap, and i'm feeling unsure as to if i'm using it right. My baby falls asleep in it almost immediately, which is great! However she was slipping down in it at first, so i made it a lot tighter this time, i dont think it's too tight but part of it almost covers her head and i'm worried she might not be getting enough air. This might sound like a silly question but, do babies generally always cry when they're uncomfortable? Any advice greatly appreciated. blessings, Efia x
Hi there, I loved baby wraps and had several though I personally didn't get the hang of the moby till about 4 months and basically used a length of jersery cotton in the early days. It's hard to tell without a photo and in any case I'm a bit out of practice!the baby and bump forum and the natural parenting forum both have a lot of discussion on wraps though and you'll find if you post a photo of your dd in the wrap you will get lots of advice about positioning and tying. To answer your specific question though a small baby in a wrap will not nec fuss if not getting enough air so you do need to check the positioning. She should always be within kissing distance - ie you should be able to kiss the top of her head while she is in it by bending your neck only. Do get some support because once you get it right they make life so easy. I moved onto a back wrap and used it till nearly two years. Was great :-).
