Hi Terrix I think you should visit your doctor. It has been disproven that gaulbladder stones come from the gaulbladder and infact come from the liver, (google liver flush). You don't say why you had it removed but this may be a sympton of stones but check with a proffessional doctor.
Best regards Helen
can you get them in your liver?

Hi Terri
I have just returned today from a hospital appointment for the same thing. I had my gallbladder removed two years ago but some suffered pain in much similar location. I have now been diagnosed with a hiatus hernia. I asked the consultant if the pain was related in any way to the gallstones and if the stones could be forming elsewhere in my body. His opinion was that after gallbladder removal you need to be quite careful about your diet and maintain a low fat diet. He informed me that the stones could indeed form again in my kidneys or liver but they were unsure as to wether the hernia was present before the gallbladder removal.
It might also be an idea to get checked for helicobacter pylori if you have not already done so.

Not too sure about the liver flush as I havent done one.
thanks for your help lindannn

The gallbladder is a small organ whose function in the body is to store bile and aid in the digestive process.

I have been diagnosed with sludge in my gall bladder, but as i am diabetic with complications they wont operate on me. Doesnt seem fair
I had my gall bladder out years ago, via keyhole surgery, I still recall those sleepless pain filled evenings/nights before it was taken out. Now even with my gall bladder gone I still cant eat very much fatty food. The gall bladder was there for a reason and with it gone I still need to stick to a low fat diet, I even ended up in hospital in great pain because I over did it one day.
In a nutshell, keep a food diary, it will help pinpoint the foods that give you the pain. I found that 7 to 8 hours after eating certain foods I was in agony, which passed after a few hours. Many a night was spent on all fours in the lounge trying to distract myself with the TV, I would think this pain is all because of a roast potato or a handful of nuts as for the pain from a christmas minced pie that was awful!
Sometimes if you sit with your back against a radiator it would help sooth the pain, make sure you dont burn or over do this. Make sure you are well dressed with a good thick cardigan and dressing gown between you and the radiator.
Now years later, I still dont eat too much fat, if I do I get a very uncomfortable feeling and a bit of pain, so I cut back on my intake. Looking back when I start to eat 'fatty' foods, it has a sort of drip, drip effect or fat, fat, effect to be accurate.
Take care of yourself and pinpoint what causes you pain as it may not even be your gall blader.

My aunt had her gall bladder removed last September and it was done laproscopic. Just a few small incisions. It was supposed to be same day surgery and she should has been able to go home after gall bladder surgery, but I wasn't handling the pain well so she stayed overnight. She was not very hungry or thirsty after the surgery and was given a soft diet for a few meals. She needed less insulin because she wasn't eating that well. She is T2 so she just decreased her insulin accordingly. Within a few days, she was back to eating regular food and the recovery period was short. I hope that everything goes well for you and I wish you a speedy recovery.

Hi
Have you tried herbal treatment? An experienced herbalist would be able to help you with this as there are enough herbs that can improve gall bladder function and remove the "sludge".

People with diabetes are usually considered high-risk for any surgery, including gall bladder surgery but, in most cases, when gallstones are problematic, the best course of action is to remove the gallbladder. Controlling the diabetes doesn’t change after the gallbladder is removed. In general, whether they have diabetes or not, most people can avoid gallbladder problems by eating a consistently balanced diet, getting enough exercise, and managing their overall health.
Another consideration may be dyspepsia, peptic ulcer disease or gastritis. An upper GI series or upper endoscopy to evaluate this may be helpful. But please see your personal physician for further evaluation of your individual case.
