Hi all, I’m wondering if any of you recognise this, it’s something I’ve had for over 20 years… every now and then (no regularity) I get this weird skin sensation on parts of my body. It feels like a hyper sensitivity, kind of how you can ache from flu but just on a patch of skin from 2-7” for a day or two. There is nothing visible or different to touch. I get it on both sides of my body but never at the same time and always the top half, I can’t recall having it below the waist. I also get it on my scalp, my eyeballs and inside mouth & throat, ie I can feel it when I blink and swallow food.

It’s not especially painful and there’s no tingling or numbness. I went to the doctor when I first started getting it about 20 years ago and she didn’t know what it was. I’m 39 now. It hasn’t gotten worse with age, but I worry that it is a precursor to something neurological. My mum had MS, so that is a worry.

Do you think it would be worth going back to my doctor? The thing is I never know when I’m going to get it so it would be very difficult to make an appointment whilst having the problem.

Thanks in advance.
