I suffer a lot of headaches and have had operations on my eyes for Glaucoma, I do get a constant ache deep behind my eyes. BUT, I am a little concerned at the horrible experience I had early the other morning, about 5 am I got up to close the window and it suddenly felt like my brain became detached from my head, so much so I felt myself shout out, I then started to burn up and go clammy and I thought I was going to die. I thought 'is this a stroke'

This strangeness in my head is lingering still, I can't bend to pick anything up or turn quickly. Last night I could not go to bed because of the fear I was truly going to die. Has anyone else had this and did it clear up? Its not helping being on here at the moment so I am going to lie down. Hope someone can offer advice.

Goodness Jeannie that must be very hard to hear from a friend.

I am a Christian and praying for my friends is very important to me, but I understand that my friends don't always see this as a priority and would like help in more practical ways - particularly if they don't share my beliefs. That's fine and I think (hope) I come through for them if I can.

You've told her what you want from her and she hasn't responded positively, so I wonder what is going on for her? You could spend ages fathoming this out though, and your priority is you at the moment. It sounds like you have a lot of supportive people to care for you apart from her and it may be right for you to give the friendship a rest for now.

When you are feeling better, you may want revisit it and find out what's gone wrong, but for now, just bask in the loving thoughts being sent from all directions. I hate to think of you feeling terrified.

Hi Jeannie hope all goes well on friday. Will be keeping you in my thoughts. It must have been a shock for you when your friend behaved like this. It is always horrid when we feel let down by others. Keep your strength up just now and maybe if she is so selfish you would be best steering clear of her at least until you are stronger.
Take care of yourself.

Hello again, Thanks for kind thoughts.

I returned to docs this morning, the scan does not show anything life threatening but it would appear that I have something called Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo. They did some more tests in surgery and I truly felt I was going to die, such a terrible sensation, as though someone is putting their hand deep in to your brain and mixing everything up! I am seeing an ENT specialist on 22nd December but terrified it is something that can last for weeks, months or even years. I look and feel a wreck :006: Never slept properly for 4 weeks now.

Any healing vibes, reike etc., may just help eh xx

Well this is good news indeed! Granted that it is not a great deal of fun for you, but at least you're not falling to pieces, and you're not about to blow a gasket in a terminal way.

I think I did mention ear problems, and there you go.

More importantly, this can be helped in a number of ways, I'm sure many here would have their own theories on how this is to be done. It isn't necessarily very difficult either, it just requires the right inputs. Take your pick of therapies!

Glad to hear that they haven't found anything life threatening, even though it is extremely distressing for you.

Have you looked into Cluster migraines? I had a similar experience that went on for 4 weeks, during which I had to work outside the UK for 2 weeks, really unpleasant experience feeling so ill in another country and flying back and forth). I had to be so careful about moving my head or I would experience intense pain (specifically behind my eyes). Bending forward is what caused the most intense pain for myself. When it first occurred I was genuinely scared and its the first time I've allowed my husband to rush me to hospital. Like you I thought I was dying.

I'm in Durham also and you got a better response from the hospital than I ever did, I got sent away and told to take paracetamol. I went to go get my eyes checked and then see my GP to discover it was cluster migraines. I was prescribed strong anti-inflammatory's and gut resistance tablets to take the edge off and told to rest as much as I could.

I'm glad they are investigating your case thoroughly though it does seem to take so long to get answers out of them sometimes.

My thoughts are with you.

Hi Jeannie - glad to hear that, although no doubt very distressing, this isn't as bad as you had feared it could be. There is lots of information available, as others will say, some fairly simple treatments etc and hopefully you will soon be fully in control of this.

One good straightforward resource is which will give you a straightforward explanation and hopefully put some of your fears to rest.

Take care

Celia

Celia, thank you for link, the doc did give me a print out of this also. I feel really ill and quite panicky to tell the truth, the bit that jumps out at me on the information is the fact it could persist for years, I truly don't know how I can cope with it for another day but the thought of weeks, months, or years, I wouldn't want to live I truly wouldnt.

Panicky, vertigo, headaches, feeeling generally unwell? Have you considered Buteyko exercises? Breathing pattern problems could have a lot to do with this, even if they are not the root cause, they may be a compounding factor now.

Hello just a little update, I saw an ENT specialist yesterday and after tests etc., he confirmed I have BPPV (full name mentioned earlier) he did an exercise that in 85% of cases cures the problem then and there, not with me of course as he believes my problem is that crystals are in two canals not just the one! (always been greedy). I was dying to ask him if they were rose quartz or citrine but my sense of humour had left me at that point 😮

Actually please, anyone out there who is really in to crystals may be able to suggest a suitable one for this problem.

I have been told I could still go on holiday 9th January but I feel so drained with no sleep I don't feel like even thinking about it at the moment.

I have been told to do some Brand-Daroff exercises three times a day for 10 minutes, they are straightforward movement but hells bells it takes a lot of courage to do them because each time the sensation is like throwing yourself out of a plane.

Best wishes to all and thanks again for every single message received. x

Oh jeannie what a rotten experience for you to go through - and how amazingly kind of you to find the words you have done for me on my thread when you are feeling like this yourself!

I only dabble with crystals, but I have just picked out two quartz crystals for myself today as they seemed to say "clarity" to me. I wonder if they would help create a more physical clarity for you 🙂 Although I have to say I am impressed, I bet nobody on the searching for crystals thread on here expected anybody to make their own... :005:

weird sensations

hi girls, i have a lot of health probs, thyroid adrenals etc, but i wonder if anyone experiences sensations of when you try to fall asleep you are woken by rushes of i think--adrenaline- it surges thru the body and pounds into the head making it feel like your head will burst and then i have a sinking feeling like i am coming down on a roller coaster, i have nerves and muscles twitching and tingling everywhere and strange sensations in my head, i try to think but i cant, and i feel in a daze, it happens 24/7 each night for a year and altho its much much less now after a year i couldnt stand it anymore, i had to google all my symptons becos no doctor could understand, i think they are hormone related but just wondered if you had any ideas, all my hormones are low too.. thanks curtains..

Hi there curtains, just a suggestion that you might be better off opening a new thread up with your symptoms etc., You might get more of a response to your specific needs. I wish you well in your quest to sort this problem out. x
