I've had some problems with the L, L3 and S1 - problems big enough to cause me to have some reduction in the use of some leg muscles - i now walk with a slight limp. I cannot stand on my tiptoes. I couldn't run out of the way of an oncoming car!!!

i'm wondering how to get those muscles to work again - which I think is caused by nerve damage. How can I go about this?

I'm doing yoga again - I was much better at it, but now am limited in some stretches. But I don't think yoga alone is going to do this for me. Are there some natural remedies that i can take to help this along for instance

Thanks

Hi Steve

Have you had physiotherapy for this? You could go back to your doctor to ask for some more, you know.

Cheers

Hello stevehoffs,

Have you seen any chiropractor? They did help me for the spine, but can't help for my neck.

Chiropractors can help with vertebras but not with muscles and nerves.

On your place I would try that if there is chiropractor close to you!

Good luck,
Bobbie

Yes

yes, I'm seeing a chiropractor - I'm going to do about 20 treatments on a disk decompression machine - but I think this is to more reduce the swelling or protrusion of the disk rather than to get the nerve to send its signals to my lower leg muscles again. I'm continuing to do my stretches and yoga. I was much better at my yoga prior to this nerve/back/disk problem but I need to get the muscles working again and that means I need to get the nerve to react again. It's frustrating as I can not currently do the yoga I was doing but I think in the long run the yoga will help me regain more use of the leg.
