my dear husband continues not to eat or drink since his brain injury 2 weeks ago, nursing staff attempt to feed through nasal tube but he keeps pulling it out. He is on iv fluids but how long can this be sustained, he is not in a coma, he is wakened and does know people but is very confused over time. He just keeps saying he is not hungry or thirsty

Hi Roza,

I can't imagine what this must be like for yourself and everyone effected, but I too will send Reiki.

I would have though the doctors would be able to explain best why he may not feel hungry.

A wild guess (and that's all it is) from me would be that the part of his brain that receives signals from his stomach to let him know that he feels hungry has been interrupted in some way so, even though logic tells us that he needs the nourishment, his brain is telling him that he's full up and doesn't want anything.

A long shot, and I don't know the full situation so you'd best determine the suitability of this yourself, but perhaps you can work on his logical side rather than his feeling side by showing him on a calander highlighting the days when he has had food so he can see for himself and maybe, even though he doesn't feel hungry, he will look at that and see he hasn't eaten for X number of days and agree to be given food, hungry or not.

Love and Reiki Hugs
