I saw the Endocrine Consultant yesterday re my over-active thyroid. I have not followed the medication route he wanted me to go on and he tried to use scare tactics last time I saw him. I have done my research and found that Homeopathic remedies are very good at supporting thyroids and have been seeing a Homeopath since January. The Consultant wasn't very impressed when I told him this at my first appt lol! BUT, today he said that I look well, sound happy and it seems that my body is coping well with this condition so he doesn't want to see me for SIX MONTH'S! He also said that his door was always open if I started to feel ill and wanted to go on the medication. Apparently my blood tests have shown that I have stabilized but still in the 'high' area, but I said who was to know if that wasn't 'normal' for me? So, one VERY happy reikiangel!

Oh, that's a very good result, RA - and I am really pleased to hear this. It must be difficult for consultants, especially those who are in the more closed-minded end of the spectrum, when folk pursue alternatives to allopathic medicine. Bodies go through seemingly strange rhythms of getting better and getting worse... so he'll have relegated your improvement to the former. And, it may well be, for all we know. You made a very valid point that what is normal for you might be the higher measurement - not everyone sits in the middle area of the bell curve.
Great news, and may you continue to get great results with homeopathy!

That's great reikiangel! Maybe in another 6 months it will have settled down altogether!

Hi Reikiangel
Brilliant news! Its so easy to get frightened into a direction that does not feel right to you, but our health is ours to take responsibility for.
Well done for sticking to your convictions!

Just a quick update. I saw my Homeopath on Monday and she is so pleased with my progress that she thinks it's time for me to stop the remedies gradually and see how I go. Fingers crossed!

Reikiangel that is brilliant news, well done, you were right to follow your own intuition, you must be so happy:D
well done thats great news. am soooo happy for you
Wonderful! I am soooo pleased for you Reikiangel!
Homeopathy needs all the positive coverage that it can get. So- thank you on behalf of all homeopaths for posting this and I hope you continue to stay well.
Homeopathy can help so many conditions and I could reply to the majority of posts on this forum by saying 'try homeopathy' but I think everyone would get fed up of reading it!! Hom
It does take courage to take charge of your own health. Good for you! Thanks for sharing your information.

I'm really pleased to report back that at my recent endocrine appointment I was told that I have no signs of thyrotoxicosis and that my F3 levels have halved!!! The Consultant is puzzled but happy that I continue to keep well. He doesn't want to see me now until October lol. I have emailed my homeopath with this info and she is really pleased and hopes that my case will make my GP and Consultant think twice before rushing people into surgery/long term medication. Let's hope so :).

That is fantastic news for you ReikiAngel. Glad to see you stuck to with what you believed in 😀
This is really heartening - I was diagnosed a few weeks ago with Hashimoto's disease, and there is very little to be found on being "treated" without thyroxine. Well done you for standing your ground, and being an example to those of us who aren't so strong or knowledgeable to cut their own path! Fab news xxx
Fantastic news Reikiangel! I am so glad for you - well done for sticking to your guns!!
Gorseflower - Hashimoto's is usually to do with the body attacking the thyroid/thyroxine and it's a bit more difficult to stabilise without thyroxine. A herb, Gum Guggul, can help but not always.
That is fabulous news Reiki Angel well done you for sticking to what you knew was right for you. You are a courageous lady and an inspiration to us all.:)

Wahey! :D:D:D
What remedies (homeopathic) did you take for your thyroid. I have a friend who has problems and is on very high doses of thyroxine - I've told her to go see a homeopath but she won't.
Would be interested to know so I could give her more amunition!
It sounds like she is unable to convert T4 to T3. For that she will need the right vitamins and minerals - see - it would be useful for her to read all of this article to help her understand what's going on (this is p 5 of 7 pages).
The result that Reikiangel has had with homeopathy, is excellent. I suspect that she was only fairly borderline with the problem which was reversed energetically, but your friend is already on high doses of thyroxine indicating it is quite serious. The fact that she is still struggling means that it's not working but unfortunately current NHS testing is inadequate is assessing the function of T3 - mine is tested at labs in Belgium and i'm taking T3 along with T4 with vastly improved results.
There is a move to try and get the government to look again at thyroid assessment and treatment as there are so very many of us struggling with inadequate treatment - see in the full article above and elsewhere on the website.
Think it could have been genetic as her father had it - she is a big girl and was finding it very hard to lose weight - not sure if her meds have been changed but she seems that it's coming off now. She has other weird medical symptoms too like one side of her body going stiff - and no feeling- she's had all the scans etc but as yet nothing has been found. One Dr said it was in her mind! To which her parents went mad.

That would have made me furious!!! 😮
Whether it is genetic or no the balance and function of thyroid hormones must be right. Hashimoto's thyroiditis has a genetic element, but not all have the gene activated, and in research more and more gene activation is being found to have an underlying dietary element. A good Nutritional Therapist should be able to help her in many ways.
That's wonderful to hear RA!
Also Janet, I would be mad as well if a doctor presumed it was in my head! 😡
Yes my friend was as was her mum - and she still has these weird episodes where one side of her body loses all feeling. She had one once driving to work and ended up being taken and kept in hospital for a week - that is when the Dr said after numerous test they could find nothing wrong and it could all be in her head.
Yet she still has them!
Fantastic news, Reikiangel! And thank you for sharing such a positive experience - it's encouraging for all. Your intuition and positive thinking, linked with practical homeopathic help is a winning combination - you are a star!
