Hello All

I would most appreciate if anyone can help/advise with my problem.

I have occasional urethral itching mostly at the tip but not always and have noticed on the inside of my penis ( urethra ) there is what appears to be an area which has a white cloudy appearance, like an infection. I also have noted my right testicle to be bigger than the left and occasional nipping feeling in both testicles, there is a very small lump on my right testicle but have been told that this isnt a problem.

Over the last 3 years I have had 3 seperate STD checks which all came back negative for any infections, I had an appointment with a urologist who prescribed 200mg of doxycycline per day for 10days which made no difference whatsoever, he mentioned that it may be a bit of urethritis, which I thought would have showed on any of the tests which I have had done ?, I have also had a blood test which was normal ( bit of high cholesterol ) and a tongue swab which was normal. Also tried using canesten which made no difference.

Im goin out of my mind with worry and the anxiety is terrible, dont know if it means anything but I have a throbbing sound in my left ear and discomfort on my right side at the bottom of my ribs.

I really would appreciate if anyone can help or advise on my concerns.

PLEASE go back to your doctor and ask for further tests - a small biopsy would help put your worries at rest, and give them more treatment options should it be caused by a low grade infection. My husband experienced something similar a few years ago, and it was resolved - but only after a few weeks of pain, frustration and worry. (I am assured that one testicle being larger than the other is usually perfectly normal). Also - what test have they done on the 'lump'?

Hi

Thanks for the quick reply Jabba !

With regards to the lump, they didnt do any tests, it's about the same size as a small grain of rice, the urologist said it was a "bit of gristle and nothing to worry about"

Could you tell me about what happened with your hubby ? would be happy for a private message if preffered, I have an appointment to see the urologist again, so hopefully that will get it fixed, but as I mentioned the anxiety this is all causing me is horrific.

I've had a problem with one testicle being larger then the other, and also significantly lower. I spoke to my GP about it and he said he thought it was fine but sent me for an Ultrasound scan anyway and all was perfectly normal.

You have an appointment so that is excellent, and unfortunately I suspect all you can do is wait. And make sure whoever you see is made aware of your feelings, and if you feel they aren't satisfying your answers don't wait - tell them there and then.
