I am trying to wean myself off the antidepressant Amitriptyline, which I was not on for depression, but I was using it as a stomach relaxer so I could sleep. During the four years I took it, I had a lot of sexual dysfunction, to the point where I felt like I had little emotion and couldn't even lust after someone.

In trying to sleep, it was recommended that I take passion flower, a herbal medicine, as a relaxer. For some reason, I have taken this in two different medicines, and both times this resulted in more than a cure of my sexual dysfunction problems. It not only relaxed me, but I had no trouble getting aroused at all. Anybody else tried passion flower? It kind of stops all the brian chatter or stuff you have going on in your head - I might give one pill to my wife, too.

RE: Passion Flower for ED

Hi there, well done on your discovery, i am a master herbalist and iridologist and treat quiet a few men with this problem, i would also advise you to take omega 3 oils, maybe in a fish oil or flax seed oil capsules and a good quality vitamin B complex, as these are common factors which affect people after taking anti depresants. Tai chi or yoga is also very useful and herbally valerian or st john's wort (unless you have high blood pressure), but dont use skullcap it well lessen the sexual desire.
All the best,
Duncan.
