Hi

I have like a dragging pain in my right testicle which also radiates to right groin and right lower back. This has been ongoing for roughly six months but seems to be getting worse, and also I feel slightly unwell like a flu type of feeling, and also twice within last 4 week have had bad stomach.

I went my doctor and he said IBS which I do have but I don't know about low back and testicle.

About two years ago they found a Calcium stone on right testicle.

When my stomach got bad I felt like I could not breathe and also felt nauseaus especially below throat top of chest like you get when you go over a hill in a car, I also felt I was producing more saliva than normal. I manage to get to the loo and it was a lot of gas, and then after that I managed to go, but then when I got home it was very loose and poured from me, this has happened twice.

I will make an appointment with another doctor and tell him.

Hi Yankee,

Yep, you really do need to go back to the doctor and insist further tests are done.
The IBS diagnosis is a bit of a cop out, as it means that the doctor doesn't really know what the problem could be so they just lump it into the IBS arena and then give you tablets to help ease the pains, but not tackle the actual problem.

A good book on IBS, that helps you to identify the possible cause of your own particular symptoms and offer advice on how you can deal with it, is called "Irritable Bowel Solutions" by Dr John Hunter. (Irritable Bowel Solutions: The essential guide to IBS, its causes and treatments: Amazon.co.uk: Dr John Hunter: Books) An interesting read and quick to get to the point, so you don't have to read 300 pages before you can start identifying things.

Pains in the lower back and coming down to the groin area could be numerous things, though it does sound similar to when I had a kidney stone (Is the pain in the kidney region?) as the kidney stone was sharp and scratched as it went down the tube towards the bladder and then became painful when it lodged in the tube just before getting into the bladder. Of course that's my experience, so you should get your doctor to check by doing urine tests for blood and blood tests for kidney function if (s)he believes it appropriate. That could also be possible as you indicate a calcium stone for yourself, and kidney stones are generally calcium based.

Not sure about your other symptoms, that may be related to the "IBS", though definitely get to the doctors and rule out things that are more serious.

Yes, indeed, while the probability is that this is not serious, it's not worth taking the risks. Go and see your GP. It's just now worth the risk.

Pain in one testicle and lower back

Hi
Ask your doctor if it could be a hiatus hernia. Its just a thought but something about your symptoms is familier.

hi,

Thanks for your replies. I am at docs this week so will see what doc thinks. I have arthritis of the lower spine, and it could be this creating the problems like say nerve damage or gone into right hip. I also have started getting like sharp shooting pain from above pubic region up to middle of chest.

Also last month I noticed my upper legs were weird, like I went to walk and like my legs went another direction this just from top of both legs at front.

I am sat typing now and have this dull pain in right lower back, and also right testicle. I think it is worse when I am sat for too long. I am going to ask can I have blood tests done for kidneys, and is it possible to see a urologist as the pain is testicle too.

Source of pain

You could be onto something with arthritis - of the hip - the hip joint is low down in the groin not where we think it appears to be - but - make sure you get to the Docs!

Hi,

I am at Hospital for Ultra Sound Scan in a couple of weeks, also this coming week will see results from water sample.

Yeh my Osteoarthritis is very bad, I can't even hoover up without being in agony and trying to straighten back up. I had a fall down the stairs a few years ago smack bang on each step the base of my spine - I think this brought on the O/arthritis as it showed up on xray of my lower spine.

I also have noticed loss of control top front of both legs on a couple of occassions, was sat in coffee shop, I got up to walk in the direction to go out, and it was like muscles or something did not allow me to walk forward like muscle or nerves in upper legs or spine had control. I will ask to see Urologist after this scan as I want to go further into the cause, and also may ask to see a physiotherapist, as that way they may send me for a more deeper scan, than a ultrasound.

Loin pain haematuria syndrome

Hi,

I have had the UltraSound scan and nothing shown apart from calcium deposit. However I ended up in hospital for a few days with passing blood, also very loose stools from back passage, and also cramp pains.

I now have an appointment for endoscopy due to the above.

My main problem is as well as the above the actual pain dull ache I am having in right low groin and right stomach and right low back, it is a hot dragging pain. I have now come across this "Loin pain haematuria syndrome" it is to do with the kidneys.

and also the pain from this can occur on only one side or both, and may radiate to the abdomen, groin, or inner thigh and testicles.

I have my appointment for endoscopy end of the month, but I have made another appointment with my doctor for this coming monday. I made this appointment last week as I was feeling short of breath and nauseaus and very fatigued. The thing is I hope my doctor takes me seriously as I do not want to appear like I am making it all up or hypochondriac. May be it is also to do with my osteoarthritis of lower spine, but if I go by instict the answer may be kidneys as the pain is in that back area region also and this has been ongoing for over a year.

What would you all do, ask the doctor for MRI of my lower spine if there is a trapped nerve or something, or ask him to refer me to someone that specialises with kidney problems?

Many Thanks

Yankee hasn't been back for 2yrs34wks.
You should see a medical professional - and demand a referral to a consultant if necessary.

Seriously, if you have blood in your stool you should get yourself to your doctor/medical professional as soon as possible.

I already went. They said its a internal hemeroid. The crazy thing is. When I wipe. Its got blood all over it that soak through and a large vein or membrane looking like thing on there. It sounds gross. I did take a picture. Not sure if I can post it here or not. I seriously feel hopeless.

Go to A&E, or if you are not in the UK, your nearest Emergency Medical Facility. There are no doctors on this site, and diagnosis should not be done over the internet.
