Hi all
Saw a message on the ladies nail, hair and knitting board regarding male genital trimming/shaving and found it quite interesting. My wife recently suggested i try shaving and after being really weary decided to have a go. To my amazement i love the result. She reckons it is getting popular and that most of her friends say it's something they have mentioned to their partners. I've always preferred a woman either trimmed or shaved so i guess it works both ways. I'd be really keen to get everyone's views.

RE: Male shaving
My husband shaves and we both like it. 😉
RE: Male shaving
Hi there. I posted about this in the Women's skin, nails... section so its good to see it on here. My boyfriend now regularly shaves and I must say I think it looks great - it's also great for closeness. It's good to see guys taking an interest in this kind of grooming. As Psi aludes to - guys seem very keen for their girls to trim so indeed why not vice versa?

RE: Male shaving
Totally agree, shaving on a man looks and feels wonderful. It's not just us ladies that should trim downstairs, more and more men are enjoying it. Though my hubby swears he will never ever have a wax treatment done in the area.;)

I'm with your hubby on that one. Ouch! [:@]
RE: Male shaving
i heard from a mate who knows a mate that his mate had shaven but itches terribly when growing back.
but the mate i heard it from says that the mate that had shaven ,couldnt do it anymore as his girlfriend didnt like it.,she says makes him look like a little boy.
note....( just using the "little" word as an example towards little boy ,not little as in littlejust wanted to get that clear just in case that mate who had shaven heard about the "little" wordcomment thing.[sm=rollaugh.gif]),and she saysdoesnt look manish!
so that mate i heard about who did shavewas disapointed as he couldnt do it anymore.
dont take my word for it ,im not sure ,but thats what i heard.[sm=nuts.gif].[sm=scratchchin.gif]

RE: Male shaving
great posts, great sense of humour. Good to see a few of the ladies chipping in on the subject. I am still shaving and my wife still prefers it that way - I now have a small 'line' as a variation and all in all I think the experience as enhanced our sex lives. Looking forward to summer now. Thanks all and keep adding you input.

RE: Male shaving
When you say shaving, do you mean that you remove every hair, or just trim to neaten the area up? And how do you go about shaving testicles? I bet that would be really difficult!?!:(
I used to shave 'down there' but it was always really itchy when it started to grow back, so now i just trim and wax and unruly bits!
I might mention trimming to my husband (he could do with some genital topiary at the moment!)He will probably tell me to get lost thoughas he thinks hair is manly.....really sad!!
😀
RE: Male shaving
hi Kate
Initially I shaved the whole lot and after a few weeks the itching stopped - i guess the skin gets used to it after a while. I guess you can just trim - the variations must be endless. At the moment i have a strip - I have a hairy chest and stomach so the 'line' runs fron the bottom of my stomach to the puis area and is quite subtle. Adds interest anyway!Hope that helps - I think you might be surprised by your fella too, by the way.

Saw my hubby doing this one, it was no more difficult than doing the rest of the area. I think they are gently pulled upwards to keep the skin taut.
(Step in and correct me someone if I am wrong.)
RE: Male shaving
yes angel you are right
,a man would find that a mach3 razor is best as this area is very thin and fine, mach 3 is smooth and avoids nipping, plus it has the moisturizser strip on it.
he may find that he may get dry flaky skin on that areas, due to the skin being fine .the shaving takes the natural oils from the skin, a good moisturizer or e45 cream will do or sudacrem, but apply it very thinly, this area cannot re supply the natural oils quicky because of the delicate thinness of the skin.
hope that further advice helps
god bless

Everyone should read this thread and ALL your messages if they are 'feeling down' - no pun intended 😀
I loved all your answers, the fact that I cannot stop laughing is proof [sm=rollaugh.gif][sm=rollaugh.gif][sm=rollaugh.gif]
How where did I put that razor?

RE: Male shaving
what a great thread realy quite funny, i must say i prefer my man strimmed in that deptment and his two veg shaved, i also trim so think he should two it works both ways also i think it makes his manhood look larger when he looks down to it when the fuss is gone!
i would also like to say that i have found ear and nose trimmers great for down stairs rather than a razor no itch but not total bald smooth though, just dont tell my partner that i use his he he (just joking i bought one specialy for this area after using his once he he)
RE: Male shaving
Ow! Sounds like it could be painful, lizzi!... Actually, my wife had better not borrow MY nose hair trimmer - as you get older, it becomes more and more necessary to keep the nose hair and eyebrows under control!
Come to think of it, I don't want her trimming at all. Why trim? It's not as bad as shaving completely(what's that all about? some sort of paedophile fantasy...?), but what's the point?
I keep my face shaved, she keeps her legs shaved - that's enough for me...
RE: Male shaving
not at all painful, i do not like completely shaven i find that strange, its nice to keep it all neat.
i have my own nose trimmer now which i do not use on my nose he he
RE: Male shaving
It is difficult for us guys to discuss this sort of thing verbally so I’m glad that this item is on the forum. I think that the dilemma on shaving is the ‘men’s locker room issue‘, i.e. what others are going to think if they happen to notice your shaven parts .
My wife trims and shaves and had tried to encourage me to do so. The fact that I regularly go to a gym and the swimming baths had, I must admit, put me off. I was however, quite turned on by the thought and longed to surprise her by presenting a pubic area that is as neat and trim as hers.
I found this item on your forum and it helped me to make up my mind to give it a go. I used the hair trimmers to reduce everything to a suitable length, ran a bath and soaked for a while. I then just sort of went for it. I covered the whole area with shaving foam and got the mach3 to hand. I used the pulling and stretching technique to shave the testicles and made sure that the underside if the penis was shaved. I then shaved the areas to the side of the testicles and penis to form a sort of oblong area of trimmed hair above the penis.
It was a little tender but I used a liberal amount of moisturiser which kept any soreness at bay. My wife was really happy when I showed her what I had done not least because I had listened to what she wanted.
Thank uou for the advice and encouragement
RE: Male shaving
Gawd, I have a beard that grows so fast and can never possibly be shaved down to that "baby-face" look so many men have that I just gave up on parts of it and let it grow.
:DThinking this thread might be about such things I just speed- read it, and am only just catching up on the fact that "shaving downstairs" doesn't mean abandoning the bathroom! 😀
Mind you, that really is a thread in itself! How do some men shave so that you could look at them under a microscope and not know they ever have facial hair? Do they lack hormones? Beethoven is one example of a guy whose beard grew so fast he always had a "six o'clock shadow" even if he'd shaved 2 hours before! I'm afraid I'm the same and it grows almost as you're shaving the stuff.
Different thread I guess. I'm not going into the other topic!
Well, having said that, I'll take one leap. What's all this about men shaving their chests? Just IMHO it's utterly ridiculous. Makes such men look like little teenagers. Do women prefer all that hair gone?? - a real question.(Not that I ever would.)

RE: Male shaving
Hi David,
Yep, I prefer hairy men. Shaved bodies on men appear to be juvenile and it puts me off. That's only my opinion, and I realise that it's a matter of personal preference. I am attracted to 'hairy' men, I have to say (probably an evolutionary throwback to my 'caveman' stage! :D)
I like to watch a man shaving his beard. It's soothing.
Love,
Patsy.

RE: Male shaving
After alot of nagging from me,my husband reluctantly agreed to trim his downstairs region, but only if i did it for him (he was probably afraid of doing it himself in case he accidently lopped off his manhood!) But, he point balnk refused to shave his testicles.
He was pleased with the result when i had finished and agreed that it really wasn't that bad. However, the next day he moaned and winged all day that he was really itchy and spent most of the day (we were in public by the way) itching his private parts. I kept reminding him not to do this in public and he apologised but said that it was just so itchy that he couldn't stop. I reminded him that i wax and trim, and sometimes feel itchy, but i never ever scratch myself in public! It must just be a male thing?!?

Great topic by the way!!!!
RE: Male shaving
Maybe I should read the whole thread again, but I just don't get the point? [&o]
Thanks Patsy. I really couldn't care a darn about silly passing "fashions" but we have met - LOL I don't mean you saw my chest to make that clear :D- and I've always liked it. I think it actually provides another layer of insulation in winter. Now, I realise that very many men are born clean-chested anyway, so I don't want to upset anyone! - but to me they always look fairly unmasculine. Like kids. Finally, if I were for some strange reason to shave my chest, I'd be starting a whole time-consuming thing off, as I'd have to do it again, and again. So why begin anyway? I'vebetter things to spend time on.
So this isoff the main thread and just to do with the chest, and goodness' knows why I am even writing this! But I'd never touch my chest.
As for the face and neck, it's a serious subject in a way. They "say" that men with beards do less well in interviews and so such. But it can grow so fast in some men that you just give in. To shave 3 times a day makes you look raw. Interestingly a step-sister showed up who had disappeared for decades and she had photos of me aged 20-21, which I don't. There's a lot of face and neck even at that age which hadn't started growing, so it tends to look as if you don't get the whole works until maybe around 23-24.

RE: Male shaving
Hello David,
Yes, it was great meeting you that time. 😀
I have to say that both my husbands had hairy chests, and I knew no greater pleasure than brushing their chests for them. It made the hair very soft and silky, and lovely to touch! Eek!
I definitely think that I am a 'cavewoman' when it comes to hirsute men! Heh!
Love,
Patsy.
😀
RE: Male shaving
Patsy,
To all "listening in" this is only a joke OK? But I never had anyone "brush my chest"! It would feel nice LOL.
I never met any lady who doesn't like such a thing so I STILL don't understand this chest-shaving fashion!
Boy, what an open thread this has been. At least we all feel we can talk to each other!

RE: Male shaving
Hmmm... I'm not sorry to say that I don't have a very hairy chest, and I also have a hair-free back. Perhaps not very caveman-like, but I think my fellow massage/aromtherapy students have been grateful!
But as I think I said earlier on this thread, I really don't see the point in pubic shaving. What's that all about??

It must be higher up on the thread, and each to their own, hey? But personally I haven't got a clue.[&:]

RE: Male shaving
Hi y'all
I must say that trimming/shaving is soooo much cooler! For any ladies trying to persuade their men to try a "neater" look, just do what I did! I pulled out a grey pubic hair that was inches long! Hey presto - next day - no hair!!!
He hates me going anywhere near him with tweezers for ears and eyebrows but I hate the thought of any other woman looking at him and thinking no-one loves him! I love him so nag him about the bush protruding from his nose etc! He moans like mad because he has thinning hair on top (but very sexy) but it grows everywhere else! He doesn't have hairy legs but he says that's years of pulling on biking leathers (wasn't fun last weekend!) !!!
Since hubby has moved down here from the North East the hair on his chest has grown. We think it's something to do with the hard water we have!!
I got quite good at shaving his chin when he broke both wrists last year! I was better at it than he is. Do most men miss one particular bit all the time?
Stay cool....

RE: Male shaving
It's a funny post, but do you really think all this is so important? Is it what life is about?

RE: Male shaving
I shave - my wife and I don't enjoy hairy bits[:'(]
But V
I shave my torso also - mostly before summer sets in - nothing sosilly in that[8D]
Men look so much less Atavistic without a mass of body hair, and it also lets the sun through - 🙂

RE: Male shaving
Dino.............I totally agree with you. My late husband always used to shave his bits. I much prefer it to be honest.
Having said that I do like long hair on men.........absolutely gorgeous.
Venetian..........is that really a picture of you??

RE: Male shaving
Long hair on men is an attribute:)MA
I would never have mine cut above shoulder length.
Has anyone else noticed when men's hair grows long, there is a hippy peace, when men's hair is shaved short there are bully boys?
Dino
RE: Male shaving
Yes Dino, I have noticed that. In fact I always kept my sons hair long.............i've never liked the shaved look.......very loutish in my opinion.
One thing I did notice at their prep school was that most of the boys had longish hair........what does that tell you??
