Hi all, i am 29 and i have lived with man boobs all of my life, when i was around 10 i remember going to the G.P who referred me to the plastic surgery unit at Canniesburn hospital Glasgow, they told me to go away and loose weight and at 10 years old being told that after all the hurtful jibes was not good. I stuggled through adolecence and wore the oversized t shirts in the scorching heat and ignored the hurtful comments. But they did not go away. I have two kids now aged 5 and 3 and when i started carrying them into the swimming to avoid anyone seeing my moobs i knew enough was enough i went to the G.P who refered me to an endicrinologist, in that short space of time i went from 13 stone 3 to 12 stone 2 thru healthy eating and excercize ...still no difference to my man boobs the endicrinologist took one look and said surgery would most definitly be the only solution and took blood tests and told me if the bloods came back normal they would refer me to the plastic surgeon i waited 5 weeks for the reults and then they came back normal, i was over the moon, i am now at 11 stone 7 and still no difference My G.P made a referal to the plastic surgeon, i found out this morning that my referral has to be vetted by a panel who don't know me and have never seen my large ugly breasts and i should know by next friday if the have given me an appointment or knocked me back i am now really deflated and dissapointed... am sorry for ramblin but has anyone had this experiance before and could help me
Thanx

Ditto for me, but well done for the weight loss. If the panel see you are trying to help yourself then I would hope they would be sympathetic to you. What makes 'panels' not very co-operative is when people seek treatment and still continue as they were expecting the NHS to 'fix them'. And for that view I can't blame them as resources are not unlimited.
My best wishes and good luck.
