RE: Pain in Knee
I have to have a knee rreplacement also due to Osteoarthritis. Is your husband on any medication? I take Indomethacin (prescription)which keeps the pain down and stops my knee from seizing up. I also take Glucosamine and find Arnica Gel good too.
RE: Pain in Knee
Hi! I have had the same problem too and was also in pain before my operation. I think the pain is normal and needs a lot of mental suggestion to reduce it. You can't depend on drugs or that's what my doctors were telling me because it will be even more painful after the operation during rehabilitation and without painkillers. And it was true. I had to have a knee joint replacement.I was treated two years back. I wasn't really mentally strong back then. So it took me quite a while to be able to walk and drive. About nine weeks. But my greatest problem was to keep off the drugs cause otherwise I felt weak by myself. If the pain is still hurting your b/f then ask his doctor for help. Just dont go asking for medication on the net this could get dangerous.
RE: Pain in Knee
I have Osteoarthritis in my knees and it took me years to find help other than painkillers, but I finally found it in Aromatherapy. This is mixture I make and it works wonders, I will eventually also need to go for surgery but at this rate it will not be for many years to come.
Base oil 25ml
mix in:
Blackpepper 5 drops
Chamomile 5 drops
Rosemary 5 drops
Marjoram 5 drops
Rub into knees (works for back problems too by the way) twice a day.
If you apply in the evening like I do, in the morning pain has reduced so much that it is often hard to believe.
In fact since I came up with this formula, last year has been almost painfree, which is such a development that it is TRULY worth trying!
However, a word of caution, if you have high bloodpressure, epilepsy or are pregnant, leave Rosemary out of the mix!!!
