Hi to all, i have other posts in back problems, to start with i woke up one morning about 6 weeks ago and as i got out of bed i had a pain in my left knee, it was a dull pain at first but as the day progressed it got worse and i could hardly walk, i went to my GP 2 days later and he said i had just twisted my knee but the day before i got the pain i did nothing to cause a twist of the knee, i have taken ibrufin which dulls it a bit but if i rest my leg elevated like my GP told me to do when i went to see him again last week my knee seizes up and is really painful to bend, my GP wont send me for a x-ray he says just rest it elevated, someone said it could be connected to my back problem as i also have a numb patch over and around the knee area, any suggestions please.

Hi Gaz, the pain is on the inside of the knee, the numbness appeared just after my back injury, the injury was caused by pushing a coin trolley which went out of control and i tried to stop it and i pulled back and twisted the trolley to avoid a collission with a parked lorry, the numbness is on and around the knee and on the outside of the left thigh, i did nothing before my knee pain, it was a sunday before and i rested all day then on the monday the pain appeared, i am a football accademy coach for u-8,s, i train twice a week for 2 hours at a time and i am not over weight, i,ll mention i have a under active thyroid which was diagnosed in december just gone and i am not on any medication yet, the gp wants to see how it goes in terms of level, paul

It could be a problem with the muscles around the hip or the hip joint itself.

Pain in the lower back and hips is often referred to lower joints.

could be vastus medialis(weakened since incident)or medial collateral ligament or medial menisus causing the discomfort, make sure your foot and leg point forwards whilst walking/running, outside numbness could be vastus lateralis or it band shortened to limit movement make sure you stretch both out and search internet for quadriceps setting exercises.

Hello Spectra,

I have a suggestion. You could consider becoming a bit more flexible in your approach to something in your life which is affecting you now (ie change your present thinking pattern). Your inability to bend on an issue and not give in is making you appear very stubborn to those close to you. Let go of your pride. Become more flexible in your approach to all the things which are affecting you at this moment and your physical ailment will go back to the nothingness from wence it came.

Cheers

Hi Swordfish, i think what you mean, so i tried the approach which i thought was in your text.
I tried to forget what was causeing my problems health wise and that is why i have waited till now to reply.
The positive approach has all but took my mind off the pains and life seems more, well pleasent.
I seem to worry too much on my health, having pain causes me too much stress and with me wanting too much out of life getting pain stops me in my tracks stressing over it.
So thats what i tried, i think thats what you meant to try.
Thanks for the suggestion.
