I get chilblains not from the cold, but from heat. They appear at any time of the year if I wear closed shoes for more than an hour inside. Or even outside, if it is warm enough. My toes itch and swell up, and then I can’t wear shoes again for a couple of weeks, only sandals.
I wear sandals whenever I can get away with it, or open-toes shoes. I wore sandals even in Sweden in January, where the lowest cutoff point - when I really do need shoes - proved to be minus two degrees Celsius.
Anything above that, and I have to be very careful not to wear shoes for too long. In rainy weather the airing cupboard is full of drying socks!
Today, having had my feet too close to the fire yet again, I searched on the internet for ‘home remedies’. Plenty of them about, and I’ll try them all!
However, am I the only one who has this problem? And will my feet benefit from the same remedies as cold-sensitive ones?
