While statins are trumpeted as a cure-all for cardiac disease, they in fact have some serious side effects - see here. Not only that, but it knocks out the body's ability to make Co-enzyme Q10, essential for heart function, so if a patient is not taking Q10 as a supplement they are more likely to have heart failure - please make sure that anyone you know who is on statins takes Q10 supplement.
There are other means of reducing cholesterol levels, such as consuming plenty of vegetables, whole foods, limited meat, ocean fish and enough exercise.
Thanks Caroline. I'm amazed the doctors don't prescribe a Q10 supplement with statins. x

It's mandatory in Canada!
No chance I would take statins, the doctor was quite pushy because my level's were marginally high!!
Absolutely NOT, (££££) each script no doubt, or am I just too sceptical? 😀
Thanks for highlighting this Caroline.
