Hi everyone,
I wondered if anyone had any suggestions – I have always, always got cold hands and feet. To the point where my feet go a blueish colour in bed sometimes and it prevents me from sleeping as they’re so cold – they just don’t warm up! Even when I put socks on it doesn’t seem to do any good and the only thing that will help is a hot water bottle. Obviously this is a circulatory problem so does anyone know of any good herbal remedies to improve circulation? I exercise regularly as well. You’d think this might help!!
Thanks,
Trudy x 🙂
RE: Poor circulation
There is a Herbal Product called Mega Chel that supports the circulatory system, If you want some more info PM me!
RE: Poor circulation
Hi Trudy,
Please get this checked out by a medical professional - it sounds quite severe and could have many causes. I always think it's better to treat the cause than the symptom, whether you do that with herbal remedies or with orthodox medicine.
Love and light,
Amber
RE: Poor circulation
I have a very similar problem, it only seems to happen when im laying horizontal in bed. Im fine when im sat down or stood up. I always sleep with socks on for this reason, I find big thick "slipper socks" help.
In terms of herbal remedies, I found Ginkgo Biloba helps with the problem. My feet are still a little bit cold, but certainly not as cold as they were before I started taking Ginkgo. But it has been well known as a circulatory aid.

"Among it medicinal uses ginkgo biloba shows most promise as a circulatory aid...."
It works out quite cheap, it's only £9.44 from my supplier for a whole years worth (360 tablets, 1 per day)and postage and packing is free!
RE: Poor circulation
Hi Trudy,
I have the same symptoms as you and my doctors have told me it is raynaud's syndrome, he says my circulation is fine, just a thought.
Google it, there is loads of sites giving information.
Hope this helps.

RE: Poor circulation
You may have Raynauds disease or it could be another underlying problem. I have Raynauds and had two operations for it when I was 13, but my hands were never that cold!!
RE: Poor circulation
Hi, another reynaud's sufferer here!:)
I've just started taking Ginko Bilboa supplements, it's meant to be really good for reynauds as it increases circulation. You can take it in many different forms (tea, tablets, liquid) but I'm trying the liquid in water type. Whatever the circulation problem Ginko is meant to be really good.
Will keep you posted!
RE: Poor circulation
I can personally confirm Ginkgo works very well indeed for all circulation problems

RE: Poor circulation
Hi Trudy
I take Ginko myself and it is quite good. Let's be honest though cold feet are fun to put on your partner in bed for a laugh. 😀
Some other things you might look at arelifestyle factors. (I put this on another thread but I'll repeat it here because it is relevent and may help also). Iauthored an article a while back titled "Blood Circulation Problems and a River in Drought, Similar Causes and Effects" which explains about the effects that lifestyle plays in an unhealthy circulatory system. Just do a search for the title in google if you wish to read it cos it's been used by a number of sites for content so I'm sure you'll find it.
Also look at stress factors in your life. Under extreme stress (such as shock) the skin is pale because the blood has been withrawn from the extremities to support the major organs. While shock is an extreme case of stress a similar thing happens when we are under general life stresses except to a lessor degree. While the effect may be less noticable the first thing to be effected is less blood reaching the smaller extremeties (such as feet as they are the furthest from the heart and sometimes hands or fingers).
If you think that stress may be a contributing factor then perhaps try learning some deep breathing and meditation techniques. If you approach the problem from a number of angles (supplements, lifestyle and relaxation) then I'm sure you'll see an improvement after a while. Hope this helps
Cheers

RE: Poor circulation
I would certainly agree with anyone who says to go and check this out with your Doctor... That at least will get you clear on the medical aspect.
As for healing this, that's another matter. I have seen some of the suggestions, and I am intrigued to look at this from a mind-body aspect.
I have a friend who suffers with this, and she is always outdoors, winter and summer, as she’s a tennis coach! Nice in Wimbledon.. but November in Hertfordshire...Brrrr. It would certainly get me down.. although she's learned to accept it.You know, it's really amazing the things I've seen people's bodies learn...even stuff like this that you really don't want. Quite anaccomplishment...
If you like, I can see if I can get an outline idea of how you may have got this going.. which might give us the clue as to how to 'unlearn it'. What do you think? Can I ask you some questions?
1. When did it start? 2. When is it worse? 3. When is it better? 4. What have you done that helps improve things?
5. What was going on in your life when you first became aware of this problem?
6. If you were to imagine a purpose for this problem, what would that be?
RE: Poor circulation
my father in law was suffering from same symptoms as you and was prescribed some medications to help better circulation.he was taking ZOCOR to help blood flow, as he was having burning sensations in his hands and feet and was alter diagnosed with a high cholesterol level in his blood which was most inevitably going to give him heart complications. thats why his doctors prescribed him zocor to help in reducing the risks of him getting further heart complications. you could ask the specialist about it and see what he says whether you are eligible or not.
