Hi there

Just wondering if anyone can give me any advice please?

I have recently started a new job and am quite stressed out and a little anxious. However, I am trying to deal with this and my main concern is at night when I lye in bed I get Palpitations?

I rarely get these during the day and find it strange for this only to happen when I go to bed? Occassionally I get minor chest pains as well and I'm beginning to get worried?

I do believe that these are coming from the stress and anxiety that I'm having, but maybe I'm wrong so if anyone can help I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks for reading 😀

RE: Palpitations mainly at night?

You really should go to the doctors. There may be absolutely nothing wrong but it is best to get it checked.

A number of things can cause palpitations. apart from serious heart problems, like stress, excess caffeine, thyroid problems, etc, etc. You may just be noticing them more at night because that is when we are still and everything is quiet! If the doctor says nothing is wrong (he may get an ECG done which is quick and totally painless) then you can start to look at how you deal with stress. Remember you cant eliminate stress from your life but you can change how you cope with it.

Thanks for your reply Lyssa. Yeah I think your right. I would need to get this checked out and I keep putting it off!!

I am trying to introduce more exercise/relaxation techniques daily and finding its helping and calming me down. Thanks again 😀
