Has anyone any ideas for keeping my blood pressure up to normal? At the moment I usually carry a packet of salted peanutscrisps around with me.

Blessings

Hi
I have really low bp and almost got hospitalised once because it was so low...the dr on that occasion recommended caffiene to raise it. Most dr's do not see it as a problem which is annoying as it can stop me from driving and other things.

If suitable, wear a negative field magnet bracelet on your left wrist if you suffer from low blood pressure.;)

A lot of the top quality bracelets are hypoallergenic, and you can get gold bracelets with magnets in, but as the magnet itself is metal based, it may cause a problem for you.

The other option is a sports band made from nylon which has a magnet encased in plastic inside the sports band.

Salt raises your blood pressure.. Try salted peanuts/crisps. that will help if you start feeling giddy.

I havent thought of the connection between low blood pressure and feeling cold.. Maybe there is a connection.. I feel the cold a lot and put it down to bad circulation..

I have really low blood pressure, the doctor said it was not too big a worry because of my age and weight, but it get's in the way of things. I have to stand up slowly and sit down all the time, and it get's worse in hot weather. Could low blood pressure be a symptom of something more if alone it's not supposed to be affecting me this much?

It's a simple thing but it is also important to make sure you drink enough especially if it is hot. Heat causes vasodilation (widening of the blood vessels) and will lower blood pressure further. It also causes you to sweat reducing circulating volume further and lowering blood pressure.

If it is really hot and you are sweating a lot make sure you replace minerals as well as fluid.

Also minerals such as magnesium and potassium as well as B group vits can help with ensuring proper nerve and muscle function so it is worth ensuring you have good dietary sources of all of these.

I was diagnosed with low BP and slightly aneamic. I was advised my a naturopath to take Iron tablets (easy iron from higher nature are best as they are easy on the gut)
I felt alot better and BP up. Maybe the low red blood cells have something to do with it.

I have taken Floridix a herbal iron tonic in the past and have found it to be helpful. I can also remember being told to drink orange juice with my meals as this helps with the absorption process or iron in your diet.
