Anyone interested in their health, and taking statins, should read this article. It is a precis of a written by GP and researcher into the causes of heart disease Dr Malcolm Kendrick.
It pricks the vast bubble of theory that high cholesterol levels cause heart disease, making a BIG hole in its side. Apparently the latest thinking to suport the original argument is that "nobody in modern society has a normal cholesterol level" so everyone must be treated with statins. The mind boggles . So logically this introduces "a new concept into medical science: normal is unhealthy and must be treated."
Well worth a read - for everyone - even if you aren't taking statins.
Thanks CarolineN,:)
My father took statins and, suffered gallstones, ulcers and muscular pain of which the doctor took no notice until we researched this on our own.
Cholesterol is vital for every cell in the body...it's used to help conduct nerve impulses and 17 percent of our brain tissue is cholesterol. It also helps to manufacture vitamin D under the skin.....in fact the human body needs cholesterol so much that it can't rely on just food sources alone.

Even I suffered from high cholesterol and now my cholesterol levels are brought back to normal.
There are variety of reasons behind this. For Few cases the cholesterol levels can be controlled via natural ways and is completely curable with no medications and for few it needs to be treated both medically and naturally. I have gone through the post by Dr.Edjanse and found it to be very useful.
