i drink lots of soda every day and i am worried about my teeth. is it the sugar or what is it that gives me cavities? i saw a post on coke so i was wondering if pepsi has harmful effects since i drink it the most.

RE: teeth and soda

all carbonated beverages contain alot of acid which will eat away your enamel. to top it off, sugar, especially the corn syrup, will stick to your teeth and cause cavities. coke and pepsi are darker colors, which will stain. all sodas are bad news all around. it is so difficult to give up, but this stuff is evil.

Sugar gives the cavities... In sodas, in cakes, in chocolates...
Acid is not good for the enamel but if "soda drink you must" drinking it with a straw might help a bit (less of it wil go directly on the teeth.

Hi,

My Auntie is a dentist, she did experiments with coke and diet coke, she soaked teeth in a glass of each, both teeth were jellyish by the next day.
