Hi everyone

Can anyone reccomend anything for mouth ulcers. I have had them in the past, but never have they hurt me like this. I have 3 under my tongue that has joined together has one huge one and I must have some on the back of my tongue too as it is so painful there. It is like having toothpicks jabbed into it.

I can't eat anymore and even talking is hurting now, sneezing...I thought my tongue was going burst, the pain was terrible.

I am using Ambasol, but I am having to apply it evey 30 mins, which can't be right.

Please please please help me.

Hi Angel,

Poor you! How long have you had the ulcers for? Most mouth ulcers last about 7 -10 days. Have you had them check out by your dentist? To be honest most creams etc don't really help. Do you tend to get clusters of them?

Dear Angel. Poor you. These are a sure sign that you is run down Hon.

You need to boost your immune system. Lots of good old raw fruit and veg should help as well as a good multi vit for a start.

RE: Mouth Ulcers.

Thanks for the advice ladies.

I have had the ulcers about 5 days now and they are still has painful has ever. I have a dental appointment next week, but I'll be darned if I let her near my mouth with these little blighters, it just hurts way to much to have her poking about in there. I don't normally get mouth ulcers in clusters but I got 3 together this time and they joined up to form one big painful one, right under my tongue.

I don't feel run down or anything, I guess I must be though.

Hi Angel

Are you by any chance on the pill? Assuming you are female of course.
It could be a lack of certain B vits. I know when I was in my teens on a certain pill I had terrible mouth ulcers all the time.

Angel

Have you recently started using a new toothpaste? I once had the most agonising ulcer inside my upper lip, and it was getting worse and worse and someone told me to switch toothpaste and then it finally started to go away. I was only using a different kind of Colgate or something, but perhaps there was more of a certain chemical in it - I don't suppose it caused the ulcer I just think it was irritating it.

Maybe coincidence, but worth a try, as I know how painful they are.

Have you tried gargling with disperible aspirin? That numbs the pain without hurting.

Also I use a little tube of weird stuff that sticks on the ulcer - it's good and it doesn't sting like a bas***d like Anbesol!! It's called Adcortyl.

Good luck - I totally sympathise! [:@]

I have the most terrible mouth ulcers at the moment too. Like everyone, I get mouth ulcers from time to time but never like this!

Exactly the same - clusters of them but mainly under the tongue to form one huge one.

I don't feel particularly run down and I've been to the docs who has prescribed me some cream which seems pretty useless to me and told me get more vit c and reduce stress.

I've had them for 10 days now and it's driving me mad.

I'm wondering if it has anything to do with a rather passionate kiss with someone about 12 days ago? 😮

Hi,

I suffer occasionally from mouth ulcers, usually when I'm rundown.

The most recent thing I have found is from Neal's Yard.
It's a Lavender and Myrrh mouthwash. I put a little on a cotton bud (neat) and wipe over the ulcer. Apply several times throughout the day. The ulcers seem to reduce in pain and clear quicker than leaving them alone. If there are several I make up the mouth wash as directed on the bottle and use that for the whole mouth.

It's been the best thing I have used, ever. I have used it on my 8 year old and it worked for her too.

It does have a strong perfume to it (lavender) but once over the shock, it's o.k. It doesn't sting either.

Best wishes
Peppermint 🙂

Effective Home Remedies to Cure Mouth Ulcers:

* Eat lot of raw salad especially raw onions. Onion contains lot of sulfur and it is effective in treating mouth ulcers.
* Mix small amount of sodium bicarbonate with water and use this solution as mouth rinse.
* Eat lot of yogurt, buttermilk and cottage cheese.
* Avoid eating sharp edged food like dry bread or potato chips. Also avoid lozenges, chewing gums, coffee, tobacco and any food which you think can trigger ulcer formation.
