hi
i have had a headache everyday for the past 2 wks, somedays it feels like my head is going to explode. it seems to be one one side of my head and strong smells like traffic fumes seem to make it worse. i sometimes feel shakey an last night i almost fainted whilst at college, i was up several time during the night being sick... been to my GP had blood pressure checked, back of my eyes checked and tested for diabetes all were fine. does this sound like migraine to anybody? or could anybody throw any light on the cause.
any advice will be appreciated.
thanks:rolleyes:
It sounds like migraine to me......did you Doctor not suggest that to you?
he did say it may be migraine but basically his answer was go away an take parecetamol, if it persists then come back for a perscription for migraine relief. i have had alot of stress recently, an i work, am a part time student and a mum to a crazy 3 yr old. the fainting part worries me most incase it happens when im alone with my daughter, an its an awful feeling too.
Hi Lilyflower,
This sounds like a migraine to me too!
Did your Doctor give you anything to take for it??? Two weeks is a long time to have a headache of any kind, especially one so severe - and your sleep is obviously being disturbed which doesn't help.
I went through a spell a few years ago where I suffered some pretty fierce migraine headaches - the fluorescent lights in the hospital here I worked made it worse. I'm not too keen on taking medication but at the time I was deperate ! I was prescribed something and luckily medication plus a long sleep eased it a great deal.
I also used essential oils to help me calm & relax and to help ease the nausea. I had the same nausea & vomiting, dizzy spells & feeling faint just like you. I was under a great deal of stress at work and wondered if that contributed to or caused the migraines.
I don't know what to suggest to you, except if it goes on any longer please go back to the Dr. You must feel worn out! What's the cause - what's triggering this off ?
I'm sending lots of Reiki healing to you and hope you feel better soon!

thanks for the reply, your right i am not sleeping well which probably isnt helping. this seemed to all kick off whilst argueing with my partner, the relationship has been quite rocky for a while which has caused a lot of stress. i am thinking of buying some migraine tablets tomorrow but i cant take anti inflamatories so i dont know what else would be available. i dont generally like taking tablets either but right now i will consider anything, im on iron tablets off the GP but i have even stopped taking those incase it was part of the cause. this is really draining me out.
Hi lilyflower,
Just read your last post - sounds like you've got a lot on your plate!
So if the Paracetamol doesn't take your headache away, ( it never worked for me ) please go back for the Migraine relief prescription - at least it'll give you some relief from this. Maybe then with a clear head you'll be able to work out whats triggering it off. And what's your body trying to tell you?
I think you need to set aside time to relax - some 'me' time - to try and relieve the tension and stress, 'cos reading your last post I think you're packing a lot into your life.
I wish you well !
Oops, I keep missing your last post while I'm 'posting' !
Just to say - I know from experience that in the case of prolonged Iron Deficiency Anaemia, that headaches (which are already one of the symptoms of anaemia) can become chronic, so I'm not sure I would stop the Iron tablets. If anything, they are helping.
Check with the pharmacist tomorrow, given that you can't take anti-inflammatories there must be something available which doesn't contain that.
As for the rocky relationship - well that's another matter which will be stressing you out ( again, been there and am there again so I can understand what it does to you).
Deal with the migraines first, insist on some relaxation time - even if its only half an hour - and when you feel better, deal with the rocky relationship in the way you feel is best for you and your daughter.
Sending a Reiki hug to you!
