If you are reading this I am hoping it is because the 'fatty neck hump' or 'neck lump' is something of concern to you. I have personal experience of this and have found it to be the greatest of all the postural problems I see in practice.
I am posting here to get some feedback from real people about their neck humps (often seen at the base of the neck of those with forward head posture). As a chiropractor, I explain to my patients that the body lays down more fat when the head starts travelling too far forward (forward head posture) and it perceives risk to the nerve system underneath the bony spine.
I'd really love to hear from any of you. What is your own experience of the neck hump? How long have you been worried about it? What symptoms (if any) do you have? Have you tried to correct it? Does anyone else in your family have a fatty neck hump? How old are you? (I'm interested in the age range of this problem too).
This could be a really interesting discussion. I look forward to reading about your experience of the neck hump and forward head posture.
