It began with what seemed like a dull toothache that persisted for a week or so. My dentist could not find any problem even after an Xray. Told me to brush with Sensodyne and sent me away. The problem was still around after a week, with nagging pain in my gum (lower) waking me up in the night. A friend thought it might be my sinus or ear canal, and I visited the doctor, who has given me antibiotics. That was two days ago and the pain is still there and I feel really unwell. Has anyone experienced similar symptoms
Hi Arriba, I sympathise as I have a similar problem on my upper left side of my face and I found out today that I have a blocked ear that's causing the pressure in that area. Antibiotics are NOT pain killers and they take 48 hours to get into your system and attack the infection so you will still be getting pain. Take whatever you would normally take for pain relief while taking the antibiotics. Hopefully in the next day or two the antibiotics will be doing their job and the pain will ease.
Good luck!

Hi Arriba - very often this kind of pain is caused by tension in the jaw. Whilst sitting down relaxing, try just putting uour hands on either side of your jaw and let your hands heat up. This could well do the trick. Would you like me to send you some Reiki - works wonders on tooth and jaw pain?
Hi Arriba,
Despite I have use it for years I would not advise you the use of Sensodyne.
It seems there are a lot of not so good stuff in it.
So maybe could you check a bit by youself on the brand.
I have find a link.
I have no clue about the value of this exange but maybe that can give you some directions.
Concerning the pain in the gum what kind of treatment are you looking for?
If you are open to natural remedies I would suggest you to use the Bach flower essences for bath mouth.
You will need Walnut, Holly and Star.
For having use it on myself for this exact problem I can tell you it's woks immediatly...In seconds it had remove the pain I had for several hours.
Unlike you I didn't expect a dentist to solve this but rather I though it would be gone by itself the next day.As it wasn't I take the remedies adjusted to my special needs (Bach remedies are personnalized remedies as I do not know you I can't give you something personnalized but despite this I think that can bring you relief.).
Let me know if you decide to give it a try / need help for dosage or anything else and if it work for you.;)
This said this mix:Walnut, Holly and Star is for pain gum.
It may not be enough for the pain form the ear if that pain doesn't originate from the gum pain.
So maybe a bit more investigation would be need to solve that problem if it is separate. We can see further if you want to.
Pain locations are quite logical as ear and teeth are governed by
the same energies in the body.
Do a google search on symptoms for TMJ. There are massage therapists trained to help with this condiiton. Pain is not fun so I hope you find a solution.
