Please help!!! I have an embarrassing personal problem!
I qualified as a massage therapist last year and my big problem is that my face and the centre of my chest (male chest!) sweat very badly when I give a treatment. It literally runs down my face! I wear a dark shirt with another inside it to hide my chest sweat and freshen up and change shirt after each client. During the session I drink cold water and use a towel for my face but let’s face it - who wants to be massaged by a dripping man???
All useful suggestions will be very gratefully accepted!
RE: If you can't stand the heat.....
Hi,
Welcome to HP.
I take it that you only experience this sweating during a treatment (if not a visit to your Doctor may be a good idea). If it is only during treatments, could it be that you are slightly nervous, in which case I guess only time to build your confidence will cure your problem.
The only other things I can think of are your surroundings, and I am sure you are already doing these but ...
Here are a few suggestions anyway ...
Avoiding synthetic fibres and wearing cotton, linen, or natural fibres should help keep you dryer.
Avoiding hot spicy food before seeing your clients, although I guess that's not a permanent answer.
Not working under very hot lights.
Hope you find a solution soon,
Laura.
RE: If you can't stand the heat.....
Thanks Laurafor those are very helpful hints and for the welcome. Yes it maybenerves but at this stage that should be taking care of itself! The heat in the room doesn't help but obviously the room has to be nice and warm for the client whereas I would love to have all the windows open! Thanks again :)Tony.
